DarthToka !48'd (in Public Record)

AdminG Beee March 2 2006 4:55 PM EST

Because it was the right thing to do.

DarthToka March 2 2006 4:59 PM EST

Sorry about that, but I have mild narcolepsy. The phone woke me up and I must have hit enter. It was an honest mistake. I'm not prone to stupid shenanigans like that. You can ask edyit, I was talking to him when I nodded off. I know how it looks when it does get sent, and I'm usually better at catching myself, but this was an honest mistake.

Phrede March 2 2006 6:28 PM EST

I wonder how we would deal with people that had Tourettes (apologies for spelling) syndrome !

QBRanger March 2 2006 6:34 PM EST

It is Gilles de la Tourette's syndrome, known as Tourette's syndrome for short.

What you are referring to is the echolalia (Repeating sounds, words, or parts of words of others).

As we all know, people with Tourette's do not type the same thing, but rather vocalize the same thing. So your analogy, while likely an attempt at humor, is not accurate.

Ox [StephenMelinda Gates Fund] March 2 2006 6:36 PM EST

In other words - pwned.

DarthToka March 2 2006 6:52 PM EST

The fact remains it wasn't intentional, it was an unfortunate incident caused by a medical condition I have no control over. I'd like to think that were I to intend actual malice I'd be a bit more creative about it. I'm not going to keep on about this because it's absolutely out of my hands on both the doing and the result.

Blarg March 2 2006 6:55 PM EST

i find it unlikely that you only landed on the 'e' key... hell, when I test it i type a few letters/numbers and then my keyboard gets all mad at me for hitting more than 3 keys at once. But hey, maybe your keyboard is different.

Hakai [Aye Phelta Thi] March 2 2006 11:35 PM EST

Toka....I'm disappointed in you. You promised you would let it go and leave it be. When will you start listening to me?! /me sighs

AdminShade March 3 2006 12:43 AM EST

<mild sarcasm>Glad that I have nothing to do with this now... :)</mild sarcasm>

Maelstrom March 3 2006 1:32 AM EST

Doesn't a !48 stop you from posting?

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] March 3 2006 1:33 AM EST

Nope, just chatting.

SNK3R March 3 2006 1:34 AM EST

No, a !48 bans you from the chat until the ! is removed, which is either 30 days until manual removal or if the user being !'d pleads to the Full Admin. after a few days if it was initially set upon.

DarthToka March 3 2006 3:25 AM EST

Blarg, you make a point, however,in this instance I was poised to type when sleep overcame me. It's not like i faceplanted on they keyboard or anything. Though that's happened before a time or two. Honestly though, ask anyone who's held a prolonged conversation with me whether or not there's periods in which I don't talk for a few minutes right in the middle of a dialogue. That means my happy carcass went to La La land for a minute or five. I'm just finding this incident funny because it's happened before and as a matter of fact it's happened again while writing this. Like anyone else, Blarg, you're free to believe what you will. Also for what it's worth, Shade, I'm glad you weren't involved this time too.

deifeln March 3 2006 3:27 AM EST

Darth,

Make sure you major in drama when you go to college.

Doom Lit Sky March 3 2006 3:30 AM EST

G Beee defeated Toka after !48 rounds of combat.

DarthToka March 3 2006 5:43 AM EST

"Make sure you major in drama when you go to college."

Already been there, done that, and got a hangover. Drama was for people who need to be told what to do. Being in a comedy troupe doesn't count does it?

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] March 3 2006 5:47 AM EST

Was it a formal troupe? Or just a cobbled together troop?

DarthToka March 3 2006 6:41 AM EST

Mostly a cobbled together bunch of misfits my brother and I found. Played a couple of small clubs and then split up for what I still think were childish reasons. Too many egos and too little compromise. Such is life.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] March 3 2006 6:42 AM EST

Then, no, it doesn't count.

DarthToka March 3 2006 6:51 AM EST

Good to know since I did most of the writing. Rarely stopped it from turning into a chaotic improv laugh-fest.

deifeln March 3 2006 7:23 AM EST

"then split up for what I still think were childish reasons."

That's the type of drama I meant...does it follow you everywhere like Pig Pen's dust cloud?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 3 2006 8:32 AM EST

Ah compromise. What obedience is labeled for married men.. ;)

DarthToka March 3 2006 8:38 AM EST

Indeed it is. When you're married you never win unless she lets you.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 3 2006 9:24 AM EST

Oh you're never let win.... She just lets you think you've won something. Every now and again, just to keep you happy.

DarthToka March 3 2006 9:43 AM EST

I'm aware of that as well, I just try not to acknowledge it. All married men know it, we just don't easily admit it to the others.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 3 2006 1:51 PM EST

;)
