unnerf AXbow/Exbow please? (in General)
any chance of my axbow beeing unnerfed ever?? I am trying to hold off replacing it with a Elb, to see if Jon might reconsider ruining 4 rares with PL, but not sure if he really cares or not.
If he does.... I had a thought. PL only absorbs damage equal to the HP of the minion that trains it, could we do the same with Str/Dex... IE if a minon trains PL, he must also train Str/Dex in order to absorb the effect from Ax/Ex weaps....
Anyway just a thought.

It is quite obvious he does not care about what most of us think about this ability of PL.

I know I'm being a brat, but a month of useless special ranged weapons isn't enough? How long is it gonna take to get a fix this time? 5 months?
Lets not turn this into whinning (SP?)... I was just making a possible suggestion that would add some depth and variety to PL (Which I really like) and bring back some of the effectiveness of rare ranged weaps....
If others agree, please post your opinions, but keep it positive :)
I'm positive that the effects of PL should only apply to damage done, and not addition effects of the attack. This lessens the effect of an ax/ex (due to removing the damage from additional drain) while still allowing the x of the weapon to drain dex or str. This allows PL to prevent dex going below 0 (since the drain is now only percentage based, and no longer includes the damage absorbed by the pl minion).

I can't say I am totally on board with the specialty xbow folks, but that's only because I have no agency -- I don't own any weapons.
The thing that struck me about the axbow/exbow aspect of the PL change was that the axbow/exbow part had absolutely _nothing_ to do with its primary phantom ability. It was as if a skill was introduced that on one hand wrote computer programs and on the other hand knew how to make cotton candy. Couldn't be much more disparate. That part I don't get at all. As with most of the 4-minion enhancements of late, PL became a no-brainer -- train it on your 4-minion team, because, hey, why else have 4-minions other than to have a whole lot of slots filled! This game is about filling slots we full as they can get!
If you can't tell, the champion of the 4-minion team (on CB1) has now found the configuration to be beyond passe.
Can we at least get an explanation as to why a damage absorbing skill would also render specialty weapons impotent? I have a pretty decent imagination, and I still can't make a link. Not even a "phantom" one.
I did cm an explanation to vp, but Sut said it all.

Having the highest PL in the game I would say don't nerf it :P But, saying this, the affects of the axbow and exbow should still work on the minion it hit, as it hit that minion, not the minion with PL. Either way axbows and exbows are now, as Ranger stated, paper weights and until jon fixes this problem, they will remain cap guns. They'll still do their jobs on single tanks though : )

I do not think anyone wants PL to be nerfed except for the stat drain to be applied properly, to the minion the ax/exbow hit.
Seekers, however, are now useless if you fight a character with more than 1 minion. Since they are disposable rares and tough to get anyway, that will likely be one sacrifice the game has to make for a new skill.
glad to see some positive feedback from both sides of the spectrum.... players who use Ax/Exweaps, and players who use PL, and most everyone agreeing something should be done to modify the way PL currently affects stat drains...
Now what are the chances of Jon taking a look at this forum, and others comments since PL was added, and possibly making a change?

Didn't bother reading every post to the fullest. In simple terms, I suggest these two things.
1. Change PL to not take the effects of Ax/Exbows (and possible other items, if any).
2. Make PL cost more to upgrade.
I think the two suggestions are self-explanatory by now. No need to beat them to death.

Nah, Jon will make change IF and ONLY IF he doesn't have to make a lot of diaper change.
come on we all know Jon has other responsibilties in life that may take priority over CB....
I would just like to hear from the man himself whether the nerf of Ax/Exweapons was intentional, or if he underestimated the ease with which chars could use PL to nullify their effect, and is considering a change....
If this was the desired effect then I can dump my Axbow, suck up the loss and move on with life. I just find it hard to believe Jon would intentionally trash all rare ranged weapons that have a special ability, which is why I am holding on for now...
Put it this way, I have suspended all forging on my Axbow, and I won a free naming contest this week in which I named a pair of EGs in lieu of my Axbow... If I (and some other chars., I'm sure) could hear one way or the other if this was a desired effect it would be slightly easier than throwing salt in the wounds and keeping everyone guessing :)
