Junction... Have a look

AdminLamuness January 9 2007 3:01 AM EST

That makes it very interesting.

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] January 9 2007 3:05 AM EST

Links items' effects to familiar

Flamey January 9 2007 3:11 AM EST

*cough* JIGOKORANO FAMILIAR *cough*

...boost? yes? anyone? I believe so.

AoF, EB, EG/HG on an enchanter with junction and a JkF, high boost to UC and DX/ST.

It can be just like a ToA UC tank, without the ToA bit, but UC boosts.

too bad, I don't have one, But I guess you have to have it pretty high.

This probably helps SF and FF quite a bit, AG powered.

QBJohnnywas January 9 2007 3:12 AM EST

That'll make Novice happy, it's what he suggested a little while back. The first time I've seen a suggestion made that Jon actually said sounded good.

QBJohnnywas January 9 2007 3:15 AM EST

Here's Nov's post:

Lumpy Koala January 9 2007 3:52 AM EST

It only brings armor stats modification effect ? Or also bring in AC ? :P

Oh and does it work only on minions that has the familiar equipped or every single minion can learn it and cumulative effect goes to the familiar? hehe that sounds like overpowering but fun hahaha

Imagine 3xGi + 4 x HG + 4xEB + 3xEC + 4x HOE + 3x BoM. That makes a massive UC dude

Flamey January 9 2007 4:02 AM EST

minion wearing it.

so not cumulative.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 9 2007 4:19 AM EST

Nice! :D

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 9 2007 4:21 AM EST

Wait a sec, would a Jig get a Morgs innate VA or a VBs innate AC reduction if the minion wearing the Jig and the wepaon Trained Junction? :/

Angel of Death [Hell Blenders] January 9 2007 4:22 AM EST

if you equip an enchanter with AG and a CoI and you equip a IF on that enchanter then the IF get boosted?

Slashundhack [We Forge Our Own Stuff] January 9 2007 4:25 AM EST

Does this work on any item? Arrows ? X-shot? the biggest BoNE?Or just stuff with an effect??

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 9 2007 4:25 AM EST

Gah, sorry for multiple posts...

FF/SF/IF

Would only gain benefit from AG and Junction.

JF

Would gain benefit from;
Weapons: BTh/Morg/VB/AXBow(?)/EXBow(?)
Armour: HoE, TG, HG, EG, EB, DB (?)

Angel of Death [Hell Blenders] January 9 2007 4:26 AM EST

so if you equip a AG on an enchanter with an IF/SF/FF then it get boosted?
time to get another AG

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 9 2007 4:29 AM EST

Hmmm... As you can't wear a Cloak or Body armour with a Tattoo, unless the Familair gets AC as well as any stat increase/special property, Junction isn't really looking that appealing.

Yeah, you could add an AG to your Enchanter holding your Steel Familiar. Or give a Jig some more STR/DEX. But it's not really gonna change much. ;)

Lumpy Koala January 9 2007 4:35 AM EST

Not much use for other rune type of tattoo. Unless dex/magic bonus adds the level of rune type of tattoo, now that's pretty nice :)

TheHatchetman January 9 2007 4:38 AM EST

do u just train the skill at base? or is there a lvl requirement?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 9 2007 4:40 AM EST

Just had that thought Hatchet! ;)

Flamey January 9 2007 6:40 AM EST

It's Like archery, in reference to tattoo level instead of ST.

if you train it, (300 xp isn't all that much) it has an effect decimal like BL/Archery.

QBJohnnywas January 9 2007 6:56 AM EST

Ok, so the familiar is linked by 'junction' to a minion and gets the bonus effects of items. Do they also suffer the penalties as a result of the link? For instance if you have a steel familiar linked to a tank wearing Tulks and a HoD for instance will that then impose a penalty on the SF's DD spell?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 9 2007 7:58 AM EST

Heh, it's the skill for single Minion FB/FF or MM/SF mages.

One pair of AG boosts both the Mage and thier Familiar...

Talion January 9 2007 8:26 AM EST

Anybody figured out how much XP is needed for an effect of 1.00?

QBJohnnywas January 9 2007 8:30 AM EST

Ah, Mr Negative here again. Just looking for downsides as per usual lol.

What I would like to know is: if you have a mage, with Steel Familiar and a say a pair of +10 AGs. With Junction in effect, do both get +10 effect from the AGs, or does the level of Junction determine the percentage of effect gain?

QBJohnnywas January 9 2007 8:32 AM EST

What I also meant to add there: will the minion wearing the effecting items also keep the full effect? Or are we looking at a skill that spreads the effect rather than duplicating it?

AdminNightStrike January 9 2007 9:09 AM EST

"Heh, it's the skill for single Minion FB/FF or MM/SF mages.

One pair of AG boosts both the Mage and their Familiar... "

At the serious cost of Evasion.......

Talion January 9 2007 9:15 AM EST

Does Junction also work with Amulets?

TH3 C0113CT0R January 9 2007 9:39 AM EST

lol NS, you pointed the at the silver bullet.

No more evasion to for single minion mages using Junction.

Hyrule Castle [Defy] January 9 2007 9:42 AM EST

wheres the love for single minions?!

The new change is not love!

Wasp January 9 2007 9:46 AM EST

We can only hope that the new item is better then this change.

AdminShade January 9 2007 9:49 AM EST

Indeed, this change only hurts me in any possible way...

Single minion < tattoo...

TH3 C0113CT0R January 9 2007 10:00 AM EST

Doesn't really help me as I use a ToA, but it doesn't really hurt me either.

QBRanger January 9 2007 10:08 AM EST

Obviously the only tattoos/familiars that will get a benefit are the SF/IF/FF and the JKF.

For the SF/IF/FF, the best benefit is on a multiminion team with an enchanter wearing a set of AG and using an AOI. The AOI benefit is a major plus with the new skill.

With the JKF, the best benefit will be if the enchanter wearing this tattoo is using a set of HG, EB/DB and HOE.

But do we know if this new skill also gives the familiars the AC of the wearing minion also?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 9 2007 10:15 AM EST

I tihnk the answer to the AC question is no. It sohuld show in the stats at the end of the fight if it does.. :/

As for the AoI, does it give its invisibility to the Familiar? Or would the only Amulet to work be a AoM on a Jig?

Are we sure DB give evasion to the tattoo through Junction?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 9 2007 10:24 AM EST

Does the minion traning Junction need to be alive for the familiar to continue to receive the bonus?

Miandrital January 9 2007 11:00 AM EST

Does junction allow the corn bonus to apply to RoS, RoBF, RoE?
Same for ToE and EB/EG.

QBRanger January 9 2007 11:02 AM EST

"Links items' effects to familiar"

Per the train page.

I suspect Jon specifically did not make it: Links items' effects to tattoo

So I would guess those using a TOA, TOE, RoBF, ROS are out of luck on this skill.

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] January 9 2007 12:14 PM EST

does it only give it to the familiar, or the familiar AND the minion?

TheHatchetman January 9 2007 4:56 PM EST

I would think its just for the minion. otherwise, wats to stop the junctioning of three +34 MgS, four +80 DB, and training moderate Evasion on a single damage dealer?

bartjan January 9 2007 5:01 PM EST

I wonder how many new players will have this skill trained, without ever owning a familiar?

Flamey January 10 2007 5:58 AM EST

of course, bart, along with all the other things, like a GS Boosted CoC mage.

just gives them more of a variety to stuff up.

miteke [Superheros] January 10 2007 9:12 AM EST

Anyone find out what happens to the PR calculations when Junction is used? If you have a tiny minion with big armor and a Junction, so the armor gets fitted onthe Jig, Will your PR boost be calculated on the Minion instead of the Jig? I would think this is what would happen. So you could basically evade a lot of the PR boost from large armors and it would make a large familiar and lots of big armors on a small minion with Junction the most efficient way to go.
