Sorry, just venting my frustration.. (in General)

Not expecting anything out of this thread but need to vent my frustration. Following AN|M4L's postings that he had CB$ for sale, I sent him the following CM:

You accept cc on paypal? If so, I'd be interested in 10m CB$. Separately, I'd like to bid 1.6M for the CML.

I subsequently received the following reply from him:

95$ for 10m, if interested send money to XXXXXXX@hotmail.com and send me a cm when you send it and i will send u the money

That made me think I was dealing with one of the honest chaps who doesn't try to leech a chap just because he is unfortunate enough that he has nothing but CC to use with Paypal. So I sent made a $95 payment via Paypal straight away. The outcome was the following:

From: AN|M4L Sent: 1:21 AM EDT Delivered: 3:37 AM EDT
only received $89.09 USD due to a Credit Card, so sending what that woudl come out to, thanks or the buy (Paypal fines me for u using CC, so in the end i received that much from you)

I'll refrain from commenting because I'm sure it's easy enough to guess what I think. If he wanted more USD to cover the CC charges, he should have stated so and I would probably have paid. Or else, he could simply reject the transfer on Paypal - I'd have still got the Paypal charge but I'd have been much happier than feeling leeched by yet another who seems just keen to make a buck out of CB & vanish.

This subject has been covered numerous time and ANIMAL is 100% wrong.

I hope he sees this post and makes good on the rest of the cash he owes you.

You sent him $95, period. Any fees are between him and paypal, and shame on him if he didn't know about them before hand. Regardless, he owes you the full amount.

That's pretty pathetic, I don't even know how PP and USD transactions work, but you'd have to be really stupid to think that.

Usually when I deal with CC payments (As I also can only use a CC on paypal) I talk to bloke first and say its CC (just like you) and then the person either accepts or then asks for a bit more to cover the fees. An|mal should give you the rest of the money he owes you, maybe admin action can be taken? He has defaulted on a chatmail-logged deal, right?

imo he owes you the full amount of money, but that's just my opinion.

If he isn't inclined to pay what he owes, he's reset bait. And he still has 40M to dispose of so I don't think he wants that.

You'll have to speak slow with Animal, this brand of ignorance is common with him. Was checking his trans Tuesday to see what is up with his USD transfers and BA spending habits. Very Monty'ish.
Agree wholeheartedly with Jon's form of punishment for such a parasite. Was buyer beware from day 3 with this kid.

Pleased to report that AN|M4L has transferred the CB$ he had withheld originally. Thanks to all those who joined in. Wish such things never happen.

Not to get off of the point or anything but I think it's a bit hypocritical when he pays you with CC on paypal and doesn't cover the fees or tells you he's even using a cc after specifically making a post that says no cc and expects full money when he can't do even it himself while selling it.

no Leo, hzarb was using the CC, not AN|M4L although if he did state that he wouldn't accept CC and then did for this one, that is fishy enough.

Paypal charges the CC fees to the recipient of the money. So if the sending party (i.e. the buyer of CB$) informs the recipient (i.e. the seller of CB$) that he's using a CC for the transfer, and the recipient says "sure", then it's obvious that it's to the recipient of the paypal cash to accept the fees.

I'm not sure what's the right thing if you pay with a credit card, and do not inform the seller about this. What I have done (after reading Paypal's terms of use for my country) is setup 2 paypal accounts (allowed under these terms), and "upgraded" one of these accounts, so that it can accept credit card payments. This way, regular payments sent to my other account are always free.

It was my fault for not actually reading the part he wrote about CC, i did send the money to him. I have in the past been charged for using CC with paypal so i was sent money i bought according to what they received, so i thought that was the standard "rule" on that, i didnt know it didnt matter if they use CC or not, so im sorry. I am not a non honest "chap" i just went off the assumption that is how it worked.

I think the issue is that sellers need to specify clearly when they sell CB$ whether they will or won't accept paypal by cc.

Of course since I don't use usd it doesn't matter much to me :)
