Is it possible to give your item the exact same name? (in General)

AdminShade October 21 2007 1:48 PM EDT

Reason why I ask is that I found out that this wasn't possible previously, and I want to have a few of my items 'renamed' while they keep the same name.

In other words I'd want to know if naming extensions are possible... (even when loaning items to someone else)

AdminNightStrike October 21 2007 1:49 PM EDT

Yes

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] October 21 2007 1:50 PM EDT

it sounds like it should be possible by the text on the page, but i had problems with this myself some months ago.

Unless something has recently changed, the answer is no.

Thank goodness then that I just found out that the names of 2 items that I'll have to update/renew in about a week will be getting better themed names :D

those ASCII characters are in japanese

Sry Jon,

This is what I get when trying to rename my MH Boomstick:

An item has already been forged with the Name "Boomstick." You'll have to come up with something else. (Variations of capitalization do count as different names.)

So extensions are not possible unless I am doing something completely wrong.

Mikel [Bring it] October 21 2007 8:32 PM EDT

If you use the same exact name, I don't think it's possible.
I've had to rename an item as well when I wanted to put more time into it and couldn't get it to work either.

AdminJonathan October 21 2007 8:42 PM EDT

That's a bug then.

QBRanger October 21 2007 8:48 PM EDT

Is it something that can be fixed quickly or something that will be on the back burner for a while?

FYI, this has been posted a few times before in the forums.

QBsutekh137 October 21 2007 10:02 PM EDT

I have had the same issue, that's why there are a couple things named by me that have slight variations to them. I have never been able to rename the same item with the exact same name to extend the naming term.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 21 2007 10:04 PM EDT

I just waited until an items name ran out to reup the name

AdminJonathan October 21 2007 11:15 PM EDT

I know this came up before; I thought I fixed it then. :)

lostling October 21 2007 11:26 PM EDT

BootyGod October 22 2007 1:39 AM EDT

For some reason, Swirl looks WAY better as Jon's forum picture...

AdminShade October 22 2007 1:39 PM EDT

Can you fix it within a month perhaps? ^_^

AdminJonathan October 22 2007 3:57 PM EDT

Adminedyit [Superheros] October 22 2007 4:04 PM EDT
