Oh BoE, what are you good for?
I'm thinking BL tank with a BoE in the front.
Maybe an evasion wall with BoE would be great for defense.
Things I don't think you're good for:
A heavy mage might as well go for the MC and train Armor proficiency.

A decent thought, however since there are now no mage skills that a mage has to have, it is an item that really has no pertinent use.
Perhaps and only perhaps by a heavy armored mage, however AP is so cheap it could be learned and one can use adam armor instead for maximum AC.

Now if Steel Skin was a skill instead of an easily dispelled ED......
But that was a change that pretty much made SS useless.
I agree, and without SS, AC is worth so much less.
Overall, I don't like the AC change.
Agreed on both points. The BOE is a useless item, except for maybe the very clever minded who tries some strategy that the rest of us will probably say is silly.
"Maybe an evasion wall with BoE would be great for defense."
that was my thought.

Well would not a McM be better for evasion walls. A bit less AC, however no penalties to skills.
Just a thought.
And with evasion now being quite neutered, how many people really would find a use for the BoE.
Another great idea that IMO, has no effect on gameplay.
A great supporter item forces one to actually make a choice from using the top item in a slot. Giving up something to get something.
The BoE does none of that.
Echoing Ranger here.
My initial thoughts are 'meh'. Going to go muse on it for a while.

i never claimed that it was a great use, just the only one i could think of! ; )
i guess the trade off with the mcm would depend on the cost curve for upgrades?
also, the new evasion, while very different from before, is still not what i would call neutered. i think i had the highest on igot post change and played with different levels as well a bit. at around 100 evasion effect it is quite useful as another layer of physical damage reduction through reduced hits. it can't compete with the old total lack of hits, but it is still useful, especially since the damage nerf. not that i wouldn't mind seeing it boosted a bit...perhaps make magic damage evadable? ; 0
In other words, this thread says "It's completely impractical in its current form."
