why doesn't MSK target decay casters? (in General)

SO I fought the iconics 3e and my msk tank targeted the first minion instead of the one casting decay...

is this a bug or oversee in programming or is it supposed to be like that?

His Mage Shield takes his spell to 0 level but it will still function at that level.

IMO this should be considered a bug as it does cast, however, I do not know Jon or NS's opinion on the matter and/or if it is an easy fix if they feel as I do.

I thought decay below base casted for 0 because it was below 0.5, or am I missing something?

MSK missing decay? Supposed to be like that. Only AMF protects against decay.

Reasoning? It's not really a DD spell like the others, and it's damage is completely dependent on the target. It's actually more like an enchantment, but because it causes damage and nothing else it gets placed under DDs.

ummm well I think this should be fixed. DD stands for direct damage and therefore decay absolutely fits in with the others.

I would greatly appreciate if jon or NS could look into potentially including decay (even 0-due to mgs) decays in the MSK targeting

I completely disagree with JW on this.

It is a DD spell however with a different damage method.

It still ignores the AoI like all DD spells. It is vulnerable to AMF like other DD spells. It is classified as a DD spell by Jon.

As such it should be targetted by the MSB even if the MgS reduces its shown value to 0.

The other option would be to have the MgS prevent decays casting like ENC overload does.

Personally, I think it's an oversight that you can even cast Decay at zero skill, and this is where it's all stemmed from.

Novel way of scuppering the Mage Seeker though! :D I approve of that! ;)

How I feel it should currently work is DD at zero should still be classed as a DD and targetted. But that a DD of even 1 should be targetted over a DD of zero.
