BoF ? (in General)

Ok here's my stats on the battle log when I have SBs equipped, BoF equipped and then no boots equipped. My main DD caster's stats don't change. Does the effect of the BoF not show on the battle screen? I don't understand if a 10% bonus should be given, why the DD on both isn't increased.

Direct Damage 7,268,724 5,649,007 SB
Direct Damage 7,269,674 5,649,007 BoF
Direct Damage 7,269,714 5,649,007 no SB

the first number is my Familiar and the second is my DD mage.

too many things in CB is broken (doesn't work). I think Jon changes a part of the code each time something is added, as a result, the code get less and less maintainable.

The boost the BoF give isn't shown on the post battle stats, it is a direct % damage increase on each hit you make while the front minion is still alive.

kevlar March 31 2009 3:42 AM EDT

ok, so the effect should be shown on the amount of damage given then? (though there is a random aspect to that right?)

kevlar March 31 2009 3:44 AM EDT

Damage Inflicted 0 0 7,928,163 5,729,605 without BoF
Damage Inflicted 0 0 7,636,970 4,886,616 with

Damage Inflicted 0 0 6,803,103 5,389,066 without
Damage Inflicted 0 0 8,170,092 4,556,958 with

the numbers are still confusing (same target). :/

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] March 31 2009 3:53 AM EDT

you wouldn't be able to tell using the post battle total damage amount. Because if you are beating him, then you are obviously dealing the same amount of damage by the end result. Try checking your average damage per spell cast. That would give you a little more accurate description.

you'd also need a larger sample... using 2 or 3 fights to try to compare a 10% difference with randomness of over 50% will lead to gross inaccuracy

i made the same mistake with some recent testing. basically, the damage inflicted number will not work because you only do enough damage to kill a minion and therefore a limited amount of damage to a team. it is still somewhat random there due to overkill damage.

even average damage is somewhat skewed due to the differing reductions of minions. it is probably best in that case to use the fight logs and take all numbers against a single minion over a few battles.

It's very clear that both the BoF and AoL have an effect on damage. Novice's team is evidence of this.

QBRanger March 31 2009 12:31 PM EDT

When I was running Koy, I noticed a decrease in my damage when my first minion, wearing the AoL and BoF died.

Anecdotal evidence, but enough to make be believe they work as intended.

you should fight the same opponent 10 times or more and average that amount of damage before jumping to any conclusions... :)

this is where I noticed the difference was significant. In Nov's first post he uses leadership. In a latter post, with the same enemy he does not and show an apparent damage drop. (against Failure)

Note that at the time we had about the same tattoo size (if you care for the SG/CoC comparison)
