Announcement: Contest Date Approaching! (in Contests)

As a few of you may know and many of you likely don't, my brother Badfish and I are hosting a massive contest this summer. We've been accruing items and cash to give away for most of the duration of our NCBs and I think it's safe to say that we have at least 30M in prizes to give away.

In an effort to get as much community involvement as possible, I'm posting this thread.

Anyways, the contest is a play on the "Seven Intelligences" theory: that there are seven distinct types of intelligences. So I'm curious to see who has the highest "CB IQ"! In the spirit of CB, Badfish and I have constructed seven distinctly different contests to test your mettle. We have a few built around different community aspects, but of course, most of them revolve around fighting. One contest revolves around killing a specific target. Another revolves around amassing the highest MPR you can in a short amount of time. I've even managed to devise a clever "camping" contest. All told, we have seven contests and are working on assembling some truly massive prize packages.

This contest is our way of giving back to CB and everybody who makes it such an awesome game. There's no entrance fee. There's no restriction on how many contests you can attempt. There's no limit on how many prizes you can walk away with.

The contest is set to begin June 1st. I will post the contest details (some contests must remain "secret" for the sake of keeping them legitimate contests, however), so expect a lot more information then- this post is mostly to get you psyched up for perhaps the greatest CB contest of all time.

And for those thinking you don't want to waste BA on the contests, let me just say this: You stand to make a great deal more money per BA by participating in this contest rather than working on your NCB or NUB character, TRUST me.

Also, this is a good time for me to point out that anyone thinking of beginning a new NCB before this contest starts should reconsider. This contest is big enough that if possible you should postpone any other CB activity in lieu of this contest.

I'm on the same page, Although I think you guys are putting something together that is rock awesome, I can only participate in things that wont hinder my NCB. It's not about cbd, it's about exp. My current NCB has put me about 30 million in the hole (that is I've spent 30m on top of my OWN resources just to ensure it's growth). Not counting time spent.

So I'd be happy to participate like demi said, in anything that I can :)

(30m isn't much, I've only been buying BA during EXP times, but I still hope to break 3m)

Me and my nearly naked minions will be in as far as we can go! Seeing as we have no concrete plans concerning cb... except to regularly pop in and give mad holla's to Hakai... we might run wit it like we stole some stuffs!

To be fair, there are at least two contests that don't require the use of BA at all (probably 3). So you won't even have to give up work on your NCB to participate in nearly half of the contests. Of course, since these contests don't revolve around BA, it's harder to rationalize larger prize packages being given away for them, but since there's no entrance fee, you can still stand to make quite a killing even without spending BA.

And naturally, those of you who are willing to postpone an NCB until after the contests are over stand to make significantly more than a killing. I believe one of our "grand prize packages" totals nearly 10M.

I'm totally in, even if I don't win anything. You guys rock! :)

Does this mean you're both leaving after this contest?

Of course we aren't leaving. We aren't giving everything we own away, after all... we've just been slowly amassing some wealth, and we're going to give away as much of it as we can afford.

This contest is still slated for a start date of June 1st. Badfish and I are more than happy to take any and all donations. Since we aren't requiring an entrance fee, if you feel guilty you're welcome to donate a bit of CBD as an "entrance donation", if you are so inclined. ;)

While I certainly don't expect any donations, I would just like to say that Badfish and I are already quite nearly giving away every shred of profit we've made in the past year or so, and even still we aren't at the total prize value we're looking for. Now that isn't to say the contest will flop, but we are scrambling to get sufficient prizes together. If anyone is interested in donating either CBD or mid- to high-level rares, now is your chance!

Well, there will be a minimum of seven prize packages. Badfish and I may choose to do additional runner-up prizes as well. Entrance prizes would be great but frankly it'd be a huge hassle to keep track of- who's to say people don't say "I'm doing all seven challenges" just to get the 10k "entry prize" for each one?

I'm still pretty excited to see your massive contest in action. :)

Well the current cash prizes amount up to over 16M. I hope that by the time we actually give out prizes we have at least 25M to give away, along with all the items we have accrued (and the ones that were donated, as well).

All in all, I'm hoping for at LEAST 50M in prizes... we're actually getting pretty close to that, too. :)
