I know this has been brought up many times, but can we please get this feature.
Sometimes one wants to try something but does not want to unlearn 9M HP or 9M AS.
I know the penalties for unlearning have dropped, but 5+M levels does hurt losing that xp.
yes please, still a great idea.

For once I am in agreement with Ranger. *gasp* I think that would be beneficial.

I gotta say no on this. I feel it would allow characters to be *too* customizable.
If partial unlearning is implemented, I vote for an increase in penalties.

And too customizable would be bad how?

If this were a petition. I'd sign it.
My gut reaction to this is no. Maybe I'm just biased in favour of Poison :) has he ever unlearnt anything?

Dreky: why would you then want bigger penalties?
I'd think customisable unlearning would be a good thing. It should be in the form of unlearn to, in the same way we now have train to level though.

I think PoisoN may have unlearned once to get junction. Or perhaps waited till the free retrain to get it.
But I also suspect he has not unlearned anything major.
However, why should that stop something that would obviously make the game more interesting.
More customization, less stagnation.

Too customizable can be bad - eg. The free unlearning periods

which free unlearning periods?
the only few we have are always after a major change in a skill or spell. people now are already able to customise the learning as they please, why not make it a bit more simple to allow for more flexible unlearning?

Yes, I see that point.
But one will still have a penalty for unlearing with a partial unlearn.
One will not have to unlearn millions of xp to free up thousands.

However, yes I don't think that partial unlearning would hurt. You get the same penalty as the amount you needed to untrain. It's less arbitrary.
Though I can see the argument for increasing unlearn penalties a little bit - they were decreased before to compensate for not having this feature right?

I suspect they were decreased for that reason and for others.
Including adding new skills/spells. We have had some free unlearning periods, but all the time when a new spell/skill is added.
