I was wondering if this is still an issue or if it's been fixed.

I still can't figure out why you'd want to junction archery over. The only familiar that can use it automatically trains it to the appropriate level.

I think he is asking if you train evasion on a minion using an AoJ does it still override the HFs inate archery.
Only BL and PL will override archery. You will be fine to train evasion.
"The only familiar that can use it automatically trains it to the appropriate level."
Actually, the changelog states that the HF will train Archery equal to ST to provide a buffer for boosting ST. It does not always equal 1.0, then, if you can boost ST by a serious amount.
For instance, if the HAL has a base ST of 100, then you can boost its ST to 500 before you start to drop down (I think.. it's 20%, right?)

So when you have a Halidon of level 1,000,000 it will have 500,000 ST and it will also train Archery to 500,000 right?
then this from Wiki is incorrect:
Archery skill will always be trained to 1.0 (full effect), even when the Strength (ST) of the HF is boosted by items, or spells such as Giant Strength (GS).
If you would boost it's ST from 500,000 to above 2,500,000 by Junctioning a ToA or by using GS then the Archery won't be 1.00 anymore, as per what you are saying :)
The wiki is always a source of confusion. Go by changelogs....

Which changelog is it then? I can't seem to find it.

I don't have the changelog date, but I know I've seen it before.

So basically, except for very low HFs, archery should be 1.0 in all instances.
There is no way to get 500% strength increase for a HF at anything other than very low levels.
Or having 4 minions cast GS, and even then perhaps not.
Don't forget that if you are using EB that will boost the archery as well.
