33.8% of the people think it should be stopped.
66.2% of the people think it should continue, but with a longer time period.

Perhaps this wasn't really a right poll, I should have added the 'yes and keep it as it is' option also.


Most people think it should be made a longer period somewhere in between 3 months and half a year. Perhaps we should continue from here onward to get this either up and running again... (or not)

I strongly vote that it be stopped.

However, if it must continue, please remove the "lifetime" tag. It makes no sense to keep the tag forever.

but i do think for the past QBs we should have a hall of fame.

The more I read the discussion, I have to agree with DD.

The game continues, however, the people change.

Who and what was a QB 4 years ago may not be applicable now.

I think the QB tag should be a yearly thing with 4 at any one time.

But there should be no limit on how many times you can be one.

The one thing I would change is the Q and A portion. It serves little purpose. By the time someone is nominated people know who they are and their views on most things.

Yes, it sometimes is the popularity contest, but most things/elections are. I have no problem with it. I managed to become QB given my sometimes unpopularity so sometimes the scum and rise to the top :)

I vote that Dark Dreky's opinion be more important then the rest of CB. J/K! I don't think any of the current QB's are really unbiased enough to weigh in on this issue anyways. Either way will be cool with me as long as we continue improvement on CB's community.

Then perhaps another tag for former QBs such as emeritus.

And QB for those active/recent QBs.

If someone has a valid reason why they think a QB tag should be permanent, I'd love to hear it.

Why is Jimmy Carter still called Mr. President?

Why are retired Senators still called Senator?

Why are retired Generals still called General?

It is a sign of respect. Something they achieved.

That stated, I still think it should be a 1 year tag with something on their homepage or in the wiki to commemorate this accomplishment.

Two things come to mind though:

"232 active users from the past 7 days"

And wiki lists 12 QB's (if I am not mistaken).

The aforementioned titles are "achieved" far less than 5% of the population. With the way the current QB tag works, we'd likely run out of people who actually deserve it (which I believe is the reason the program stopped).

I think there should only be one active "QB" tag at any given moment.

Wouldn't it feel extra special to be the one and only?!

We surely would not want Bast taking the QB title forever.

66% is a fairly large majority, I just wanted Jon to be aware of the stats and we'll see what he does.

That would actually make less people get it overall.

As the same folks would be up against each other time and again. As Ranger said, you want to go up versus Bast every year? ;)
