My first thread (in New players)

Hey there! Welcome to CB2. Just a reminder, not sure if the tutorial tells you to, but take a look at the game strategies of the help section. Grant's strategy is particularly easy to start out with, and once you understand the game a little you can move on from there.

I created a new character so I can try Grant's strategy, but my new character doesn't have a minion and when I go to train a new minion, there isn't one there to train.

Do I have to wait awhile before a minion appears to train? Do I need 'x' amount of BA?

Never mind. I'm stupid and can't read and this proves it. hehe

I assume you have found the 'enlist minion' button? ;)

Yep. It jumped out of my monitor and smacked me in the head.

One last question before I bug out of here:

Does wielding a weapon (a Cutlass for instance) reduce the effect of my mage's Fireball? (i.e. should a mage ever wield a weapon)

I think the answer is no, the mage should never wield a weapon, but I'm not certain. I don't use one myself.

Wielding a weapon will not affect your magic, however, magic will always take precedence over weapons. For instance, in melee, instead of using your cutlass, you will cast fireball.

Be sure to pick up a "tattoo" as soon as you can afford one. They may seem expensive right now, but they're well worth every penny.
