Lesser Tattoos No Longer Rare (in Changelog)
The rarity level of lesser tattoos has been reduced such that they are no longer rare. This means that:
1) They will start showing up in the store instead of auctions
2) They will no longer be random drops
Awesome! Thanks a ton, NS!
This changemonth is already living up to expectations.

Awesome change!!
At least now I know that if and when I ever get my first drop, it won't be a lesser tattoo.

nice change.
Can you make it that T characters do not need to wait 10 minutes after they pop up to buy them?
It already automatically makes tourney characters have to wait 20 minutes after they pop up.

Very awesome!
I don't understand the tourney character situation. Please elaborate.
the cool down period is important

Right now Tourney characters have to wait 20 minutes from when an item shows up in the store to be able to buy it.
This is of course to stop them from taking an item a real character may need.
So we can have regular characters buying up all the lesser tattoos in the store and try to resell them in auctions for a large profit.
Since tattoos are very important in some tourneys, and lesser tattoos are essentially now only good for T characters, can the 20 min wait time be removed for these items?

Novice,
Is the cool down period important for lesser tattoos?
In fact, what items in the store do people buy anymore?
Perhaps leather armors here and there, and a few cloaks etc..
We buy compound bows to sell to people who are new or plan to use them for tourneys. Basically, we use the cooldown to price gouge each other.

This is a great change..
But it comes after I've gotten 3 lesser tattoo drops..
Can the Elven Stiletto be taken off next?
No, GOM is next. Nothing is as worthless.
Regarding the tournament stuff, I was under the impression that the cool-down was to prevent abuse of people transferring items between tourney and non-tourney characters with coordinated buy/sell timing. It doesn't look like that problem goes away with lesser tattoos.

How quickly we forget the Tulwar :)
But as "rares" go, the GOM is pathetic.
But I see the point about cooldown.
Note to self: get them off the blackmarket list.

Note to NS:
Get the Compound bow, Steel Brig and Heavy Crossbow off the BM list as well as these are not rares. :)
Really? Maybe the calculation of what goes on that list is messed up. I would hope the list is generated automatically...

I think perhaps at one time in CB1, heavy xbows and compound bows were rares.
I know in CB1, it was freaking hard to get a compound bow in the beginning.
I have no idea about the Steel Brig.
I think the list carried over from CB1 to CB2.
Jon would know the true answer. I am just guessing with a little past education involved.

I'd say everything below 40 BM votes in the BM list should no longer be considered a rare, taken off the BM list, removed from random drops and spawn in shops instead of auctions.
Thanks for the change NS!
"How quickly we forget the Tulwar :)"
Hehehehehe. ;)
But I'd rather useless Rares like the GoM were fixed first. ;)
Ahhhh.... Remembers the day when there were no 'Rares' and everything spawned in the Shops. Spending days going into and out of the shops hoping for something good. When I first saw a Loch, best weapon at the time, I was dazed and someone bought it before I could hit purchase.

And then people had to ruin it by cheating.
Which is why camping no longer exists.
Yep... I really hated it when it started to cost BA to go into the store. Especially, when you had to buy Ammo for your ranged weapons. Going into the store and finding no ammo that you could use, but having it cost you 1 or 2 BA was not a happy thing.
However, Jon had to do something to curb the bots.
Redirect blackmarket discussion to the other thread :)
