Encumbrance - I don't get it! (in General)

I know I should 'ride the wave' so to speak of using all the weapons and strategies that are uber-powerful, like ExBow, UC, Shocking grasp, ROBF etc. but those things seem kinda odd - and hard too visualize - so I went with this strat, Light Wall, Light Tank, mage and Enchanter. (Though I did get an AxBow, which makes me feel a bit sheepish) I can't farm people 100% above me like some do - but I still like it. Though, I now admit, it needs a few tweaks. One problem I am having is this blasted ENCUMBRANCE. I can't get it to go up! I am training HP and ST but it seems to be frozen now and so as I grow - so does the Encumbrance on my Light Tank. ( know I have Encumbrance on my Enchanter which is OK right? -- I did get a few weapons and Armor that was pushing my Encumbrance to it's limit, but I quit upgrading but my NW just keeps going up and my Encumbrance is - well stuck. So it is bothering me. What the heck is going on?! Since I fear this answer may be more technical than I would like to hear, oh forget it - just give it to me straight. I can take it. What can I do?

What are your current Encumbrance, ST, HP and Networth equipped on that tank?

Your NW can only go up based on your tattoo but that NW is not counted to Encumbrance.

And what could be going on is that your NW is really high and that you need to pump much more ST and HP into your tank than you are able to.

Please! The Wiki seems to not be helping on this matter. How is the best way to get Encumbrance to go up on a tank? (besides using a ToA). ( I may have to go that route but I wanted to try the ToE to see if a defensive team would be better with gear on the Tank to boost DX and ST.)

Ok - so getting my tat to grow will help.. but it is growing too slowly I guess. Is that right? Maybe it is between levels? Or does it grow every time I train? I do have a bunch of gear.. Hm I like gear! Well I may have to strip off some .. maybe the Cloak, it is summer.. :)
When I rented this TSA everything got screwed up. Seems I had to train archery so much to compensate for the ST gain.. But i thought the added ST would boost the Encumbrance a lot but it didn't. I'm still confused.

Added St from a TSA should boost ENC.

Don't use too much high NW armor when you start a character. Renting a named bow from rentals doesn't add much to NW so you can stay under ENC and have x150+1 weapon. Also adding an AoM would help boost your ENC.

I'm not sure what the problem is. Your "Encumbered at: #" level is not growing? If so, then please use that 13k xp you have and put it into HP or ST and then repost the stats.

I trained a some before I read the latest post. So it didn't all go into ST or HP but some did. I see it is growing .. surprisingly. Maybe it is just not keeping up?

I had my encumbrance just below my NW - but - It seems if you are on the edge of encumbrance and you train ANY DX, or skills, you are penalized with a not slow growing EC, and .. will be getting further and further behind. Is that right? DX doesn't count toward raising EC? and if so ... grr... well it just doesn't make sense to me. Anyway my NW is growing too fast, (if that is possible) and my encumbrance is not growing as quickly, so I am in trouble. Is that what is going on?

Your 'Encumbered at' is slowly growing so unless you upgrade anything on that tank, you will soon be out of it.
And indeed, Ethereal Chains will make it worse, and training DX does nothing.

Wiki: "ST and HP give 30 ENC for every level, UC 15, all other skills/spells 7.5. Dex gives 0 to ENC."

Just take off all the pointless armor, probably doesn't make much of a difference, and get a TSA and Tulkas' Gauntlets.

I was sure it wasn't growing. But it is. I think my ToE may be adding to the issue also, since i seems to grow in steps, but at least I see the EC is growing a little. I see now what may be causing some issues, and what I could do to help it out. . I like to be DX heavy so that is one of my issues. ST is King now so I have to go with it. I just would personally rather do a little damage than miss and stumble, poor little minion, he feels so awkward. It hurts his feelings to miss altogether. It may even give him a complex! he he. Like the kid called 'Head' in ' 'So I married an axe murderer'.

I ran into this when I switched from a ToA to HaL. ENC .30! All you can do is stay at training HP and ST,get the tulks and an HoE. Trollskin will help too.Take a few points off the + on your weapons to get your NW to come down a bit. Train. It does catch up. Just very slowly.

Sir NS commander Sir? - Could you please post a link to the correct change log so I can find it? I have been looking or rather lost for about 45 minutes now and have not found a good change log that defines EC completely.

Several changes have been made since this Encumbrance thing started. Maybe they can add something more in Wiki to explain where we are today.?? If it is hard for a small tank to say under Encumbrance level, I am sure it is killer for large ones. SORRY.
It is very complicated when you consider EC effects and PR and such. I guess that is why EC, UC and other strategies Like RoBF, and Familiars are so popular now. Doesn't seem fair a familiar should be exempt actually. I like having a Tank I can see and equip myself. Maybe they could have a Enchanter familiar?? oh well,

If you had a single minion tank, I think it might be pretty hard to keep up with ENC, since you have a 4 minion team then your ENC basically gets divided by four.

I could keep up with my 2 minion team's ENC...
