Have Cash Rewards Dropped Way More Than 20 Percent (in General)

QBsutekh137 September 3 2009 12:20 PM EDT

In the item drop thread, Henk points out that, as far as he can tell, his average cash rewards dropped from around $725 per fight to $425. That $300 drop is way more than 20%, closer to 40%.

Can anyone else weigh in on before/after cash rewards?

Additionally, can someone check the programming and make sure there is a 0.8 factor at the very end of the cash rewards calculation? If Henk is correct, it seems weird that the reduction is almost exactly twice what it should be. I personally have not been paying close enough attention to reliably address the question.

I have not seen a cash reward drop of 20% or more on my character.

i remember thinking in the first post where henk made this claim that i saw what else was in play that would affect his rewards in such a manner. at this time i do not remember what it was. could we get a link to that first post please?

Well I have heard several Claim the same thing, and may be inclined to believe it. With some of these big changes there has been bugs and minor tweaks done to them, so far I have seen none for this one. So there might be some tweaks needed for this change as it may have some bugs in it that have yet to be addressed.

Punishment for whining...

i did find one thread where he was testing on a sunday. if his original tests weren't on a sunday and he had a clan bonus that could be a large part of it.

also, he seemed quite confused by how the challenge bonus works in relation to average rewards in that thread. i think that for this to be good data, we would need to know if he did his original tesing also on a sunday, was he in the same ba regen for both tests and was the challenge bonus zero, no?

Zenai: while it is nice to know what you heard, I think it is of more value what you experience yourself, not?

I have seen my rewards drop a bit, but no where near 40%.

20% seems about right, but I have yet to formally test it as I have no data on my rewards pre change.

Well, I was thinking that if the multiplier were in the wrong spot, that could effect it, but I don't think so, given multiplication's wonderful properties...

Example, let's say it is at the end...

Normal reward: $100
Bonuses (doesn't matter where from): 100%
Cash reward multiplier: 0.8

Apply to normal reward, then apply bonus:
100 * 0.8 + 100% = 80 + 80 = 160

Apply bonus to normal reward, then apply multiplier:
(100 + 100%) * 0.8 = 200 * 0.8 = 160

So, as long as there's a 0.8 somewhere in code, it has to be right...

Gotta love randomness ^_^ Tell somebody something's changed and they'll cling to one side or another. No need for data when you can compare the high end of your old rewards with the low end of your new ones. Meanwhile, there are those on the other side of the fence... Those who *were* getting ~$500 /fight before, now getting over 650% o.O

My current character in 6/20 has around the same cash rewards as my old character in 8/20. Not sure how to find out percentages though.
Around $700-$900 per fight.

I usually tally up "cash per day", very roughly though.
It was an approximate 20% drop for me, give or take.
