How much longer... (in General)

TheHatchetman September 13 2009 7:12 PM EDT

...are we gonna whine about multis, then buy from NUB sellouts? Please note, I am not saying that all, or even any NUBs are multis, whether or not they decide to sell out. But you can't honestly think buying from a NUB sellout isn't encouraging this...

Thoughts?

RaptorX September 13 2009 7:16 PM EDT

I was once a NUB and sold my stuff... but I see your point too. Good point.

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 13 2009 7:32 PM EDT

No matter which way it goes players are gonna sell and buy. Our job is not to pick out any one we might think is a possible Multi and just not buy from them and tell the community as such either. That is a job for the Admins to do, we decide personally what to do for ourselves.

This is definitely a fine line to walk as some will say I want to buy, whereas other will say I want to sell but many frown on them for doing so, the peer pressure sucks. Bottom line I would say if it is your stuff do as you please with it up to and including selling and/or giving it away.

If you are a Multi you will be caught sooner or later, hopefully sooner as Multi's destroy communities like ours. Honestly I wish there was a faster way to get you guys out of our community....as it stands the Admins do a pretty good job of it >:-)

ok my /rant is over

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] September 13 2009 7:36 PM EDT

Multis who play for cash are...not very bright in my opinion. (It's hardly lucrative versus the time they spend on the game. Which could be spent...having a life or...WORKING. Both are much more rewarding, socially and financially respectively :P ) But we don't know that they're multis, and as far as we are concerned, they are not. So buying from them is ok to me. Does it encourage them to multi? Maybe, but that's not for us to feel wrong about. The game makes it legit, it is legit. We may whine all we want about multis, and then buy from people who sell out, encouraging them, but it's the game's fault as long as USD transfers are going to be legit.

In short: The fact that multis may sell out is not my problem, and I will buy from anyone the game's admins decide is clean. (Or
do not decide is dirty.) I will not investigate anyone to see if they are clean, it's not my job.

Rolling bonus ftw

BootyGod September 13 2009 7:42 PM EDT

There's no line to walk here.

If you buy from someone who is selling out for USD, you're supporting and encouraging multi'ing, whether or not that person is a multi. End.

QBRanger September 14 2009 6:28 PM EDT

I tried to ask if we could stop NUBs from selling out. But got a resounding NO in my past post.

"If you buy from someone who is selling out for USD, you're supporting and encouraging multi'ing, whether or not that person is a multi. End."

Only a Sith deals in absolutes.

j'bob September 14 2009 7:35 PM EDT

NUB leads to CB dollars, CB dollars leads to Selling out for USD, Selling out for USD leads to multi... multi leads to pain!

Pain leads to pain killers, pain killers lead to a funny light headed feeling, funny light headed feeling leads to happiness.

ergo. NuB leads to happiness.

Quit yer whining, buy low sell high!!!

Levon [Clocked Out] September 14 2009 8:45 PM EDT

last time i checked any buying or selling with USD outside of the normal supporter channels is frowned upon, whether you're buying from a NUB or from a vet.. it's just not enforced

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] September 14 2009 8:50 PM EDT

^ I'm pretty sure that's 100% subjective, and Jon doesn't care either way.

"If you buy from someone who is selling out for USD, you're supporting and encouraging multi'ing, whether or not that person is a multi. End."

So whats the current numbers on people multi-ing and selling out? And why is that statement only limited to USD transfers? What about this, a guy multies, finds an item and puts it up for auction, thus making everyone who have ever placed a bid in the in-game auction a supporter of multi'ing, okay we can just stop playing now... or just assume the statement isnt valid.

freddy September 14 2009 11:18 PM EDT

it is as it is. just as there will be sun tomarrow and the shadows once it has risen. it is true in the time that they have gotten the money from being a multi they could have had a couple paychecks..so the jokes on them in a cents....bad pun? oh well

If you guys all band together and boycott buying NUB cash, I think it's a great idea. However, understand that this cannot be enforced by site rules.

It's be great for a user movement, though.

QBRanger September 15 2009 4:20 PM EDT

Kind of hard to do that when you have:

Lefty (Broken Arrow) 99.253.95.53 QBJohnnyWas (The Travelling Man) $10000000 -- Thanks! 4:17 PM EDT

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 15 2009 4:52 PM EDT

Let them do want they want to do.
If they don't care about the CB community enough to want to stay legit, its their problem not yours.

QBRanger September 15 2009 5:00 PM EDT

Actually it is my problem as I want a game free of multitards coming in and ruining it.

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 15 2009 5:03 PM EDT

In what way does the multing ruin the game for you ranger?
The only thing that really occurs when someone multis then sells out is adding cash into CB that gets bought by people with USD.
Person A plays game and sells around 30mil at $5/mil.
Person B buys said money and the game goes on.

three4thsforsaken September 15 2009 5:04 PM EDT

I agree with Nayab, multi's are yet to ruin my gaming experience. They get caught as soon as they start abusing something, otherwise, they are stay on the downlow like any other player.

QBRanger September 15 2009 5:04 PM EDT

In that tone of thinking,

Why then not let people multi as much as they want?

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 15 2009 5:08 PM EDT

I am not sure on that one Ranger.
But thing is, if it was allowed, i would probably be the first to start a new account.
Multis in Carnage are banned more along the lines that they aren't truly dedicated players as they never really try to get anywhere.
I think the reason for complaining is that when people multi, they sell out. Don't even try to play the game properly, just try and get a couple of extra bucks in their wallet.

three4thsforsaken September 15 2009 5:12 PM EDT

oops, pardon my lack of proofreading.

QBRanger September 15 2009 5:12 PM EDT

Well I guess you convinced me.

As long as they do not start to abuse something, it is fine to multi.

I guess I can safely buy CB from them and not worry about it anymore.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] September 15 2009 5:22 PM EDT

"I guess I can safely buy CB from them and not worry about it anymore."

have you been holding back? ; )

QBRanger September 15 2009 5:56 PM EDT

Yes dude,

I have not bought from a NUB in a long time.

At least 9 months.

TheHatchetman September 16 2009 7:18 PM EDT

like this one... Again, I'm not saying that any NUB, or Almaisky is a multi or a piece of crap... Just that new users have done nothing to deserve the ability to sell their $CB, and definitely not for 5 times what those that have actually contributed something - anything - to the game over the course of years do (well same rate, but with a 410% bonus last time i checked, this results in over 5 times as much money per BA spent)...

This was never intended as an idea for any sort of rule change as the headaches involved in doing so would be immense while still leading to a fair amount of loopholes, and those just getting away with it. But I really would hope that people take this as the wake-up call that it was meant to be. When seeking to spend your hard-earned USD on somebody else's $CB, at least make sure they've earned it ;)

PearsonTritonRaveshaw September 16 2009 8:31 PM EDT

"Only a Sith deals in absolutes."

110% win.
