Going to copy this directly from chat, because I'm lazy. Including comments from fellow chatters! You're welcome.
<Godwolf> If you do, I'll tell you an hilarious story that happened to me tonight. And terribly tragic. *weeps*
<[CB1]Gun> hmm tempting
<{CB1}Slayer333> Done and done.
<{CB1}Slayer333> Amuse me with your pain.
<[CB1]Gun> +2 slayer
<Godwolf> Okay. So after work today, I was in serious need of hydration. So I bought a 32 oz Dr. Pepper of awesome goodness. But I was stalling, you know, delayed gratification.
<Godwolf> And I get to the MARTA station (Think subway) and I'm sitting there waiting for the train for like 15 minutes with the soda between my feet, eating my dinner. And then I hear the train coming right as I finish.
<Godwolf> So I jump up to throw away the now empty box my food was in, and as I do, I kick the Dr. Pepper which proceeds to, in slow motion, roll towards and off the platform right in front of the train.
<{CB1}Slayer333> NOOOOOO
<[CB1]Gun> Nooooooo!
<Godwolf> I had to leave it there, 32 ozs of pure awesome lying on the MARTA tracks. It's still there. Unopened.
<Lochnivar> Rosebud......
<Godwolf> I never even broke the seal. *weeps*
<[CB1]Gun> my precious...
<{CB1}Slayer333> Today humanity suffers a loss that can never be recovered unless GW mans up and gets that Dr. Pepper.
<Godwolf> Oh, I will. You can rest assured.
<{CB1}Slayer333> Video tape it, update your will before doing so.
<Godwolf> But if something happens to it.... I won't be able to carry on.

MARTA! So, Atlanta? MY brother took me on MARTA to see The Who in 1989 (is that right? Ye gads!) A delightful experience, even with being accosted on the sidewalk on the way back by a couple of fellows who probably would have had me for lunch if my bro weren't 220 pounds of stocky awesome...
I also cry for the lost soda!

I'm going to go ahead and bid GW farewell. Soon, the Atlanta Journal Constitution will post a headline about some strange guy taking a metro head-on after trying to retrieve his Dr. Pepper.
At least you'll die for a cause you believe in.
the only thing that could've made this more of a tragedy is if it would have been dr. pepper with imperial cane sugar!

^ ... Wrong.
The only thing that could've made this more of a tragedy is if it would have been a Mt. Dew.

It would have been if they hadn't have been out, honestly.

A tragedy of even epicer proportions? Dr Pepper hasn't been sold here for nearly a decade (I think its been that long).
I miss it. Apparently its still available here through imports, but I haven't seen any since they stopped bottling it here.

Come on, LB, what beats a sweet, sweet Dew? What else can quench and wire at the same time so...epically?

"Come on, LB, what beats a sweet, sweet Dew?"
I'd prefer a nice plain Coke.
Though it's far better with some Jack in it.

The Dr. Pepper has been saved. And is currently in my freezer as punishment for running away before I drink it.

Tell me you didn't get _the_ errant bottle back? You didn't walk track?

I did. Fished it out of the tracks with my umbrella because I'm awesome that way.

To be fair, it wasn't that crazy. It wasn't near the third rail and MARTA trains just DON'T run that often at 8 PM.

I knew somebody would have to spoil the fun and post that. *grin*

Glad your OK, _and_ have the soda. So, I can't say it's that crazy, actually...

Sorry but you throw away a perfectly unopened can of soda and you don't throw it in the bin but on the tracks?
What kind of environmental polluter are you?

Thanks. But it looks like I missed both the date and left a small typo (of/or). I wonder how many people skipped it thinking it was a serious article?
