What kind of strat is good against the RoS? (in General)
And please, do not say the RoBF, I am currently using the second biggest RoBF (third biggest tattoo in the whole game) and many of the people who beat me are RoS users... So.. what can I do?
To beat RoS users while using a RoBF i reckon you have 3 options.
Option 1: Train massive amounts into DM, this is not a good tactic late game without retrain.
Option 2: Find their other damage dealers and counter them with items or EO spells (AMF/EC)
Option 3: Make your minion a tank (mage requires alot of xp) to add more damage to your offence.
Hmm, which of those 3 options seems most applicable to my situation? I am still in the process of paying off a debt so I can't really do a tank right now... And I don't have enough EXP on my non-main minions to have an effective DM/AMF/EC... I guess... I fail.. :(
Well, first thing would be to unequip those weapons as all they do in fights is add PR.
Well, I don't really want to look at your strat and figure out the best logistics for changing it.
But I will tell you this:
RoS teams by nature have 3-4 minions and obviously did not dedicate their tattoo for offense. This means that vast majority of RoS teams that capitalize their EDs have a weak offense.
This means that the best approach is simply to nullify their offense, it's much easier than running into their HP/GA advantage. Backlash damage is one way, damage reduction + TSA for the stale is another.
Of course you must make sure that you are losing because they are capitalizing on their EDs. If that is not the case, you might want to consider that it is not the RoS that is beating you but rather another strategic concept.
Well you are not using the robf properly, you have it on your MM mage.
GA eats that MM mage up. So switch that RoBF to a minion that does not do any damage, like that enchanter of yours.
The RoBF on the MM mage is supposed to act as partial defense, with anti-magic and evasion. Besides, the enchanter is for PL purposes.

I'm pretty good against RoS/GA teams, which is supposedly the great weakness of an archer team. But then I do lower damage thanks to the Mageseeker, have a lot of HP and lately have a ToE, which I understand blocks the returned damage from GA, because it is 'physical' damage. I also have no enchantments and everything pretty much in physical stats. That can make a big difference against a lot of strats.
But, and this sounds like a stupid and obvious thing to say, I appear to have the ability to last longer than them.
What about these teams is making you in particular lose?
I lose to gols090. But now look at his strat I see that his wall weakens my RoBF damage by a lot. Hm. He just kills off my minions until slaps around my damage dealer until it dies.

There you go, it's the last longer syndrome.
See, a big ELB team wins because it does big damage, mostly, pure and simple. But A RoS team digs in deep. It's a bit like the RBF as well, it has to last and then just chip away at you, slowly but surely.
If that's what is beating you, then you've only a couple of options. Move the RBF so it can last longer, or increase your damage somehow.
Well if you are losing because he has a wall, maybe you should consider changing your MM to SG.
Tried. Lost a total of 4m exp on one minion, only to die faster than before..
that sucks beyond belief.
Have you tried a SoC? In a lot of Cases that can make a big difference.....just a thought.
"The RoBF on the MM mage is supposed to act as partial defense, with anti-magic and evasion. Besides, the enchanter is for PL purposes."
moving the tat around is the simplest and cheapest way to experiment. when i used to run one i always kept it off the damage dealer as that just sped up its demise.
It wouldn't be cheap. The only way to move it is by untraining PL..
you also have it on a minion with no natural hp that only gets hp from ablative shield?
how much hp does the tat holder start those fights with?
"It wouldn't be cheap. The only way to move it is by untraining PL.."
you could test it first though on the minion with the lesser pl?
^hopefully that is also the one with natural hp. ; )

I'm a fan of DM, but only if you can fully dispel the GA -- that's the first step. And I'm not sure you could have enough DM for that. DM is a definite paradigm shift.

Also, a huge investment in DM can leave you vulnerable to teams that aren't using enchantments, because it lowers your effective XP. That is, if you have a 3 mill lvl DM and you're up against say an archer team without any spells then you're smaller by the amount of XP it takes.

Basically
1) RBF
2) huge DM
3) Heavy tank with TSA and tons of HP to try to outlast the GA
4) Huge SG to try to break the GA cap
