Snow down South (in Off-topic)

kevlar December 5 2009 1:16 PM EST

2 years in a row... snow in Louisianna. :)

http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/78578577.html

In other news, Al Gore calls it a hoax.. saying powdered sugar was dumped from hot air balloons from above.

QBOddBird December 5 2009 1:17 PM EST

IT ALSO SNOWED HERE IN ALABAMA

:D

AdminShade December 5 2009 1:18 PM EST

I love snow :) (white snow that is)

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] December 5 2009 1:27 PM EST

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 5 2009 1:29 PM EST

Tell me about it man! It was insane, Texas gets snow but Houston.... it is a few and far between kind of thing.(Once every 4 or 5 years maybe) People here were like what is this?.....lol

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 5 2009 1:35 PM EST

I have no doubt bro, if we get snow here in H-Town it has to be horrible Up North. Try our Down South Summers though.......Whew!

Lochnivar December 5 2009 1:44 PM EST

Snow, of the white variety.... for you Shade

kevlar December 5 2009 1:52 PM EST

^lol, that's messed up. A winter time Rick Roll

AdminShade December 5 2009 1:54 PM EST

Bwhehehe, I actually have once danced in front of an audience with that song =)

Lochnivar December 5 2009 1:54 PM EST

for the record the link I posted is not a rick-roll....

... might be worse, but at least it is different!

PearsonTritonRaveshaw December 5 2009 1:56 PM EST

It almost snowed in SF a few years back. The temperature dropped below freezing and I prayed for snow so I could snowboard down Lombard street.

kevlar December 5 2009 1:57 PM EST

I drove down Lombard street backwards! Good times. Snowboarding down it would be awesome >:)

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] December 5 2009 1:59 PM EST

The funny thing is that there is no visible snow on the ground here in Eastern Canadia.

We don't even have 5 cms of snow to our name. Heck, I need only a vest to go outside, it's 2 celcius right now.

Please continue stealing our snow, guys.

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] December 5 2009 1:59 PM EST

celsius*, gah

Adminedyit [Superheros] December 5 2009 2:20 PM EST

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 5 2009 2:52 PM EST

Loch I just had to do it man......rofl

CombatSquirrel December 5 2009 3:26 PM EST

Snow even here in El Paso, usually once or twice a year.

QBRanger December 5 2009 3:45 PM EST

Don't you just love Global Warming?

Too bad Climategate is not being covered by any of the main stream media, well except for Fox that is.

Lochnivar December 5 2009 3:48 PM EST

Really Ranger. Is that relevant?

Weather variations like this are not proof one way or the other of climate changes.

Oh no, to day is colder than yesterday, call Fox news, Global Warming is a lie!

[P]Mitt December 5 2009 3:49 PM EST

.... Ranger, do you have to make every thread a political statement? Seriously?

First snow in New Jersey was today! Won a dollar off a friend who didn't believe that it would snow :)

QBRanger December 5 2009 3:53 PM EST

Umm,

If you did not read the first post, this was a political thread from the beginning.

Lochnivar December 5 2009 3:57 PM EST

no... that was a joke by kevlar...

He didn't attempt to assert a position one way or the other and the powered sugar reference I think was unambiguous...

QBRanger December 5 2009 4:05 PM EST

AH, I get it now.

Kevlar makes a joke or statement and it is just water under the bridge.

Thanks for the clarification.

kevlar December 5 2009 4:08 PM EST

It wasn't intended to be a political thread, but it was a good poke at Al Gore, and was a joke. If you need my stance, he's a green weenie :)

Heard it's snowing up north back home, so watch out Bartleby you just might be getting some soon!

Lochnivar December 5 2009 4:14 PM EST

yes Ranger, I am persecuting just you...

I understand that making a joke about powdered sugar is essentially the same as claiming that Fox News are the only ones willing to cover 'climategate' in that both are highly charged political notions.

I apologize for my horribly oppressive rant and here by will hence forth seek to mend my biased ways.

Salketer [big bucks] December 5 2009 4:21 PM EST

"We don't even have 5 cms of snow to our name. Heck, I need only a vest to go outside, it's 2 celcius right now."

Yeah, can't wait anymore for the snow... I been outdoor all day wearing a T-shirt, it's supposed to be a lot colder :(

Lochnivar December 5 2009 4:39 PM EST

I would like to apologize to Kevlar for hijacking his thread with squabbles...

Poor form and I know it. I suggested letting things slide in another thread recently and would do well to take my own advice.

Again, sorry, I will try to be better behaved in the future.

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] December 6 2009 11:24 PM EST

Aaaaargh! I knew I would jinx myself by posting here!

Snow. Falling. From the sky. This is horrible.

InebriatedArsonist December 6 2009 11:39 PM EST

I'm surprised that a state of emergency hasn't been declared. "A centimeter of snow in Mobile?! Call out the Guard!"

IndependenZ December 7 2009 2:54 AM EST

Smithers. Release the hounds.

RaptorX December 7 2009 4:22 AM EST

Maybe the alligators will get sick so the hounds can get away without incident. Can you imagine a pic of frost on an alligator's eyelashes? Bet that would sell.

QBsutekh137 December 7 2009 9:33 AM EST

I think if an alligator had frost on its eyelashes it might soon be a dead alligator. Those non-mammals have a hard time with cold, lack of homeostasis and all. I wonder how long the poor creature could last? They are probably fairly tough...
