Besides the ones that use a Jig? I don't see any UC users in the top 20 besides NS.
The main problem with UC is that the damage model is not linear. So the larger all the teams get the more UC damage falls behind everything else.

Which seems like a VERY BIG problem for UC....
It has been pointed out and harped on many times like several other things here in CB Land. It has all, unfortunately, fallen on either deaf or uncaring ears.

Winner of Nothing is a pretty viable strategy.
iirc, before jon went on his hiatus (hopefully that is over?) he had stated that uc was going to get looked at next. many of us have been waiting patiently ever since! ; )

A Blade of Thuringwethil [73x30666] (+305) worth $487,252,427 owned by TourneyPrizes (The Labyrinth)
UC vs that is like bringing a knife to a gunfight.
No Ranger, i have seen people win knives vs guns (V for Vendetta :P)
This is like attacking an aware and operational battleship with a toothpick.

Ok but my point is that UC can really only be used with junctioning a jig. even if UC was balanced, the fact that you can directly add UC xp to your jig through junction is much more powerful than using UC alone. The benefits of a combat gi and an elven cloak seem poor to the benefits of more than doubling the UC on the jig.

The biggest problem with UC is that you're spending XP for damage instead of CBD. Although you can get a large "weapon" by spending XP on UC, you can get the same stats from just forging your own, and then you can put more into STR/DX.
Therefore the top teams that aren't really cash limited, they are more ENC limited a UC is just a XP sink.
At lower levels, without years of CBD to add, UC can be very competitive.
In a way UC is kind of the anti-tank set up. I say that because you
can equip a ranged weapon like an exbow and just drain tanks strength
all day. Also UC comes with evasion And if your UC is large enough
it will turn even the strongest weapons in the game into a +0 base.
So it's rather easy getting the strength and dex advantages with a
rather minimal amount of exp.
On top of that it doesnt take much net worth to get a decent combat
gi and hg's. Couple that with an SoC and you could see yourself
doing some big damage for a minimal investment.
I think the common misconception is "wow my UC damage is complete
crap for my mpr" and well that's because your comparing it to the
damage a tank or archer does and that's just silly UC is in a
completely different ball park compared to tanks and archers.
I think in the future UC teams will be on the rise. especially since
jiggy teams are becoming more and more popular.

ok so there is no argument that using a jig is far superior to using UC regularly?

imagine having a hal except you can junction the stats of a ELB to the ELB of a hal
