How do clan points work? (in General)

I'm looking at the number one clan at the moment and looking down the characters personal points there are only about 4k positive points. But the clan points are sitting around 11k. What gives? How are our scores worked out?

Look at the xxJS07 character battles fought in 24 hours. They have been having people join the clan and fight 1600 BA, then leave.
It is because people left the clan. If you look on the points generated on the right it shows that there were other people who got a lot of the 11k.

Should not the CPs leave the clan when the person making them does?
Seems like a nice bug/exploit to me. Not intended by those doing it now, just something in the system.

^just asked NS the exact same thing. 100% something that needs to be fixed. When a player leaves, so should the CPs.

I agree with Ranger. If I recall correctly, it works that way in Econ. Clans.
wont this only last until the cache flush? although i do understand how this can be abused on a daily basis.

After 24 hours it will disappear from the 24 hour leaderboard, but it still affects 1 week/1 month/1+ year.
that part is ok DoS, i would imagine seeing as those were points that were claims for that clan which is valid. jsut this short term boost for better clan bonus.

Players / characters leaving a clan should indeed have their accrued clan points leave along with them.
Congrats on Titan for getting 500k MPR in one day, but yea, they were just joining to get the extra % for exp for his NCB run. You guys dont have to worry much, tomorrows Sunday, CPs don't exist in 7 more hours.

Seriously, over 7k battles in 1 day? Is this the rebirth of Single Minion? More like a serious exploitation upgrade from Single Minion...
I don't like where this is headed...
I'm patiently waiting for what the new year has in store. ;)
As for the Clan points stuff, I think the whole system need to be changed. It made no sense when your Clan auto disbanded, because yout top point earner left, took thier points with them, leaving you at -1000 and auto disband (and however many times this was stated to not work like that, it did, and personally to me twice).
It makes no sense for people to leave the clan and thier points to remain.
Now, where's Sute. ;)
"Players / characters leaving a clan should indeed have their accrued clan points leave along with them."
Been that way since CB2 was created I'm pretty sure. I don't see why they would leave our clan. They were earned in our clan.
"Seems like a nice bug/exploit to me. Not intended by those doing it now, just something in the system."
Oh, and it was definitely intended. I definitely wanted 15% bonus for the first 24 hours on the NCB.
Triple post, yay!

Don't worry about it. I'll give you something to really complain about in 8 months or so.

Didn't I do it to the Beer Garden three times?

But they don't . The whole point was that you got CP for your clan, not for yourself. That's why they're not your stats once you leave. It stays with the clan. It'd ruin rankings if they left. Please don't.
Didn't I do it to the Beer Garden three times?
Lol! Was it three times? ;)
In that case it's happened to me personally more times than that!
So clan points can be 'gamed' if they stay with the clan after you leave, or if they're lost after you leave.
I think the Clan system needs to be revised. What with all the missing points, dissappearing clans and *necessity* to belong to even a singleton Clan (Hidden Bonuses and 'free' 7% Bonus) over not being in a clan at all (and let's be honest, singleton Clans make no sense at all).
But then, I'm no fan of the silly set up for making the most of your 'bonus' run. Store up weeks worth of BA on your character before you even start. Only start at XP time. Make sure you've got a guarenteed 15% Clan bonus. Get as many other people as you can to store up 1600 BA as well.
/Bleh.
This changes, and the impact of Clan Bonus will change anyway.
Come on 2010! ;)

GL,
Do you really think anything will change in 2010? There has been no significant changes to CB in 2009 and I doubt Jon will get a rejuvenation in '10.
Well nothing significant (aside from the AOJ) unless you look at the great thing which is the drop system. And other cosmetic changes by NS.
My opinion-This is the way clan are going to be for a long time. Broken and borked, subject to abuse.
And Titan,
No comment on all the exploits you used in building your NCB. Good job on getting to 500k MPR on the first day. You exploited things very well.
Could've done better, and will in the future.
As a new user I just don't understand how someone can have 7k battles on a single day? Seems somewhat awfully wrong. I played for about a month for 400k MPR and an "old" player has the possibility to get that amount in a day. Hurray! Now if this aint stimulus for more participation..
Don't worry seid, my BA costs $3,453 apiece on the second day. I can't afford to buy BA, you'll stay ahead if you log on a burn your BA.
sebi*, wow, I'm tired. Sorry, 2 and a half hours of sleep makes for a slow Titan.

S:
One can buy BA and have more than 160. You just do not regenerate BA but can buy BA till you have a pool of 1600.
If you get a few people who do this and xfer the character back and forth, you can get: 1600 times number of people doing it, battles on a character that day.
And if you fight an intentionally gimped high score character that someone else is hitting the enter button, to stop from being comatose, you can continually fight 7k or more battles in xp time. Normally fighting 1 character would mean only 2 fights per minute, but with help you can get hundreds in per minute.
Given the xfer fee on a character is 4/3 x MPR + 100k, in the early stages of character development, the transfer cost is quite low compared to the MPR one gets from transferring it.
GL, Do you really think anything will change in 2010?
I still hope so! ;)

Looking at this post I'm almost sorry that I brought it up!
Meanwhile however, do we really want it that this becomes the only useful way to start an NCB? A lot of work, and a little slippery to boot. I'm not saying things should be easy to achieve, but surely they have to be easier than this surely?
