Canada vs U.S.A (in Off-topic)
Hockey Tonight.
I will take bets as long as they are not to large.
(I am cheering for Canada)
CM me PLS.

I've got:
20k says Pronger takes a dumb penalty
50k says Niedermayer looks old and slow at some point
100k says the Canadian PP continues to look bad enough for me to keep wondering why we didn't bring Mike Green.
50k on Brodeur looking a bit 'off' in his game
all in all, 5-3 Canada over the US... with the 5th being an empty netter
1 very patriotic mil on the US to tie win or get injured severely (die pronger die)
s/tie/get a point (International hockey rules make me itchy)
I'm worried for the Sharks if they use the 3 point system in the NHL.

/me wonders just how confused poor nov will be with his cheering when Canada throws out Thornton/Marleau/Heatley/Boyle on the same shift....
And what do you have against Pronger... it's not like he's been suspended 6 times for cheap attempts to injure...
(it's actually 8 times now!)
Have you seen the "and them home crying" commercial up there in backwoodsia?

AK: you do know you are not allowed to make profit from contests right?
this should be moved to OT then...

Nope.... link or it didn't happen.
Nov...I will take that bet assuming winning means winning in OT or in Shoot out
Anyone else????
Also sorry for the wrong info it's actually tomorrow 4:30 PT
(also congrats for all your medals so far Americans)
Any other takers....So far just NOV?
I'll drop a mil on the same basis as nov. I'm not usually a sports person but eh every once in a while I get the itch.
Take'em down Team USA!
Okay assuming Zen and I are on the same page I have two bets for 1 million each.....Anyone else ..No takers after the game starts of coarse

Ahahaha Canada's one sport. Ouch.
IA: that was for the collision... I was watching on a DVR delay.
I'm sorry AK, and thanks!
Woot hurrah for Team USA!
(I'm not sorry) U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A!
You Won but I would not be so proud we dominated every factor of that game except the netminder , you got lucky on a couple and a couple were garbage goals.
If we meet again in the medal rounds luck wont save you.

Perhaps not, but our goalie is better than yours!
Garbage goals because they went off Canadian sticks?
Your superstar brat and goalie with more ego than brains were the reasons you lost. Miller's talent couldn't have done it without their help.
Without getting into specifics Canada hands down outplayed the USA, Miller did okay but was not exactly top notch, point is USA won't win gold by playing like that.
Outplayed? Outshot maybe...
I'm not convinced you're ready for Germany, let alone Russia.
Now your being insulting Nov.
Out hit, out chanced, had possession of the puck more often, in your zone more despite you having more power plays, out shot of coarse,
they did block more shots,(wonder why),less turn overs.
I am sure I could find more if I dug it up.
I'm not trying to be insulting AK, heck I've got as much invested in Team Canada as Canadians considering it pains me to watch the Sharks top line playing among people who can't even keep from running over their teammates. Heck if Nabby turned the puck over like that I'd be angry too.
Excuses, excuses. Losing is losing, AK.

by superstar brat you mean, Crosby? Lol? Crosby won their last game, which was an amazing game in its own right vs. the Swiss. Bad deflections are just bad luck. It will be a LONG time before I forget this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOJyGU09tl4
The difference in the game was plain and simple, period:
Martin Brodeur 22 shots, 18 saves; record: 1-1 (Bring in Fleury!!)
Ryan Miller 45 shots, 42 saves; record: 3-0
--------
And Russia today? The refereeing was so bad, so bad. I think the Canadians are more than ready for them.
that's the thing... it wasn't an amazing game, it was a game they should have had handled (much like the US game) and they couldn't come up with it
I just know that I'm more than willing to put some money where my mouth is for the Russia game. Though I'm worried about hurt feelings when the Burger line + Boyle come home if Nabby is the one to destroy their hopes of gold.
I just watched the game up to the part of that 3 man Canada pile, rofl'ing the whole time, but that goal right after, Crosby should've been called for a tripping penalty as well, lol.
I'll say it straight gentlemen. A win is a win by millimeter or mile, luck or chance, skill or talent. Everyone has good days and bad, yesterday was NOT Canada's Day it was the US' Day get over it. Maybe next time will be Canada's or another teams who really knows.
This is one of the reasons I stay away from sports, it seems like people have to much invested in the perspective rooted for teams. When this happens it seems otherwise intelligent people degenerate into petty arguing children and honestly I see it as deplorable at best.
Of course this is just my opinion. :-/

Thats similar to my reason for not watching sports. A team can be statistically the best and still lose to a team that is statistically much worse. That kind of thing is very dissapointing and angering for me, so I just avoid watching and check out the news every now and then.
IE, Cardinals baseball last year...

Man I wish I had checked in before game time, as maybe AK's new name might have been AK(USA_RULES)
lol
go figure, me and nov on the same hockey page.
GO KANE! (and i just couldn't watch much of it for fear of having to watch Kane and Toews on the ice at the same time, let alone Keith and Seabrook)

I will take solace in the fact that come Stanley Cup time it'll be novice who is hopelessly stuck cheering for that 6'5, 235lb invisible man that is Joe Thornton...
~sigh~ .... Brodeur... sadly I knew he didn't have it after the game against the Swiss... being right sucks.
Go Bobby Lou!
I had so much trouble keeping myself from cheering just as loud when Heater scored...
I've never been more torn. Today Canada will likely face a goalie who by all accounts is the future of the San Jose Sharks goal tending. Do I root for him? Do I feel bad when he makes a stop from Heater? I think I just wish everyone has a really good time.
Assuming the logical happens and the game after is the Russians, I will be hiding under my house pretending my favorite Sharks aren't building hostilities that could ruin our chances for the playoffs.
Rematch Sunday for Gold!
We will see now when it really matters.

I'll rebet the same mil if you're still doing that :P
Hatch And I will bet 1 million again...If Canada fails I will pay Hatch 1 million once I get it as I am broke, if anyone else would like to place a bet and have me pay them after hatch (in order it was received) feel free to bet me (up to 5 million total). In turn I would be willing to accept the same terms if my opponent losses.

Feel free to put me at the end of the list of people to pay. I'm quite certain you'll be able to make 10m before I have ANY use for the money.
Game is about to start, rematch for GOLD.
Go Canada Go.
So far Canada does not seem to be playing better than the last time they faced USA, but USA seems tired... :) Lovely
Gold!.........Whoa!!!!....Canada is getting drunk tonight!

At least Miller made the mistake himself (and the guy who was on Sid, stopping and staying on the boards).. Crosby and Fleury (in a suit?) going gold makes it sting a litttttle bit less.
