In stores 20 minutes ago (west coast), digital copies can be activiated in 9 hours and 40 minutes.

I just bought my copy here, east coast. Can't wait to get home tonight to play it.

I'm getting mine for free today. *grin*

I'm in Japan, I have to wait till digital copies go live as we don't have a store nearby selling them today.

Hurray! Starcraft 2, no lan play. Only the Terran campaign is available, with further Protoss and Zerg campaigns available soon as DLC you need to pay for! Hurray!

You could, but I'm having much more fun watching stupid people assume I acquired it illegally.

I'm not interested in spending that kind of dough on it, but I'll gladly take a free copy. But I probably won't be able to play it till I'm done with calculus.

While it's pretty lame about how they did the campaign split /dlc thing, but they still did a really good job on what you DO get.

I'm not going to get my copy for a long while.

I'm loving every second of it so far.

It's pretty epic. The single player is a lot more like a story, where you get to pick and choose missions and act as Raynor rather than being forced down a set path of one mission after another. And though WoL is the "Terran Campaign," there have been levels where you get to play as Protoss (in just what I've played so far). The multi-player is every bit as amazing as it was in the beta.

If anyone wants to try it out, I have a Guest Pass that came with it good for a free 7 hours of game time or 14 days from activation. It's not worth trying to auction, so just send me a CM and I'll give it out to someone.

Still not as good as Warcraft 3 in my opinion.

Demi's more interested in the next Diablo.

I hate to tell you old sport, calculus IS life and you won't be 'done' with it for a long time.

I'm absolutely adoring SC2. I was originally unhappy with the style of it (Three games for three races? LAME) But the final version wasn't so bad. It'll just depend on the DLC pricetag. Anything $20 and under will be fine. If it goes over that, I may be just as miffed if they had charged per game.

For now, though, it's brilliant. The campaign is well placed and interesting with a nice blend of RTS (Duh? By blend, it's still 95% RTS) and some RPG elements for playing the game how you want it. I also like them bringing in more units to the campaign but keeping the balance by ONLY letting them in the campaign.

Still getting into the multiplayer. I played a lot in Beta, but haven't at all here. But once I'm done with the campaign, I will get into it. If you want to play with me (I'm okay. I know what a Thorines offense is.) feel free to add me on Battle.net.

If you're not into competitive RTS then half of SC2 is not for you.

If you're into the custom games like I am, and the only reason I kept wc3 loaded on my computer for so long, then you'll love sc2. The editor is better, and the custom games are already surpassing anything wc3 had.

I also am going to be much more excited about D3 though, been a very long time coming.

Blast. I'll be starting calc on August 23rd. I'm not looking forward to being sucked into it forever.

Back on topic, Starcraft 2 has been taking up more of my time than I care to admit. I think I've slept less than 15 hours since Tuesday.

One thing I've noticed: does every campaign level have to be a bloody timed mission? Seriously, I like to toy around with my foes in *craft games, not win in x minutes before time runs out, or before the fire wave hits, or before the temple is breached, or before a hero auto-wins the mission, or before the enemy collects y number of resources, or before A counter hits B value, etc...

On a side note, I'm still laughing at stupid people who accused me of illegally downloading the game for political gain.

I'm not too familiar with the new Battle.net, but if anyone wants to team up for some 2v2 or 3v3, I'm game... I've been honing my zerg skills, exclusively...

I know the old battle.net had realms, u.s.west, u.s.east and so forth but I don't know if there are different realms now, and if there are I have no idea which one I am in or how to find it.

I have the game now and am up for someone to play with me. I really suck for now though so chances are you will win. ^_^

I stand corrected, I'll be buying my copy this afternoon. :)

Initially I was only going to watch walkthroughs on youtube for the "storyline", but the only one I found was a guy that was a complete tool at gameplay so I couldn't stand to watch anymore.

Borrowed it, played the single player on casual (while also mem-editing my minerals/vespgas to more than I could need in the later base missions, because I was getting impatient), finished it in just a few hours (almost half of which were cinematics), then deleted it.

Absolutely not interested in the multiplayer part, nor in skirmish mode.
Why ?
It's pretty much almost identical to the first one except for slightly different units and slightly better graphics... and I had enough of that to last me a lifetime about a decade ago.
As usual, Starcraft graphics lag far behind what's considered "state of the art" at the game's release date - at least they're quite polished so you don't mind that much.

unfortunately i live Brasil and we need to download it free. All games it costs to you at max 50 bucks, allways costs the double for us because our high taxes. I believe if they want us to buy, they should set fair prices.

Put it on hard mode.

But of course, the missions get more difficult as you go on.

If you want difficulty in a game like SC2, go online. Period. The game is so ridiculously well balanced that it's scary.

And if you don't like SC2 online, you probably just don't like strategy games.

What if you just don't like people?

Get a cat.

If you don't like people it's more of a reason to reaper or 6 pool ling rush people in 1v1.

Sure, Starcraft 2 is known for being an RTS. However, the community always creates tons of custom maps with the map editor. In WC3 you could play a multitude of different types of maps, not just strategy. The same thing is already happening with SC2. More than likely, there will be at least ONE map that keeps bringing you to SC2.

played a game with Nat and Slayer tonight - who else plays? I'd like to start doing 2vs2/3vs3/4vs4 with people I know :)
