Carnage Blender: watch for falling sky (in General)

There has been an excessive amount of chicken littling recently, and I'd just like to abuse my privilege and say that I'm tired of it.

I still can't think of a better game. One that has thrilled me and frustrated me like CB has. The core players of CB are strong, and new players are being sought. People do leave, but that's always been the case. The come back almost as often, I know I did.

I speak for no one but myself when I say that I'm sorry I haven't worked harder to bring new folks in, haven't spent more of my own money on it, badgered more afk folks I know to try it. If you're someone whining about neglect of this community, dear jon do something about it.

It's more like the trash compactor scene in "Star Wars : A New Hope", but in extreeeeeeeeeemely slow motion.
Well, at least that scene ended well, can't say I'm overly optimistic about other similar situations though :P

So who in CB is R2...?

Star Wars aside, to say the sky isn't falling is an optimistic opinion. Some that a lot of us have held, for (in games terms) a very long time.

But optimism can last only so long. And you can't disagree that it's starting to fade.

We have a passionate core that love this game. It's why we're still here after over 5 years, which is very long for a game. But I don't think you can diagree the core is starting to lose, enthusiasm. Recently we've had a few players stop playing. The most recent being JS and today Slayer.

While the playerbase has held to a steady 150 odd for quite some time, this number also includes a few that lurk, or are no longer active in the game.

As for doing something about the neglect, what can we do that we haven't already tried? I've badgered all the RL communities I'm a aprt of. I offered to buy new supporter items. I've even offered to put everything on my charcater up for sale to fund some dev time. I've given all my old characters over for NPCs (Which hasn't seemed to amount to anything).

There hasn't been a changemonth in years. And it's cool to say there's stuff going on in the background, but what? And when? If we're really to reignite interest and fuel enthusiasm, then tell us.

Show us what's being planned. When it's planned for. Involve the community. Veiled assurances that after more than two year, stuff will happen don't really cut it anymore.

Or we watch as more of the core get disinterested and leave.

I know most won't agree with this post, or think I'm bitterly doom-mongering. But I'm not. I'm being realistic, and I'd be doing myself and the game I love, a diservice if I didn't step up and say this. It's nothing we don't talk about privately, but it's needs ot be publically adressed.

I don't want to see CB fail. I don't want to see CB dwindle away. I've never found anything to replace it, that's how special CB is.

But currently that's what's happening. And I won't dig my head in the sand any more.

I'll be sure to watch for the falling sky novice, but I don't think it will. I'm sure this vigorous speech will motivate more people to stay, though; way to stay optimistic, bravo.

Nov: I agree with you post but only to a point. No the sky is not falling, CB is not gonna just poof one day. However CB does need a kick start, it IS starting to stagnate a few years since Changemonth, New Supporter Items, or Foundation Shaking Changes doesn't bode well now does it?

GL: I agree 100% realistically speaking/thinking it's not super bad or good. Strong player base or not it's gonna dwindle, hover, dwindle a bit more until finally CB starts to fade away. Will it be in the next few months/years? Months not very likely, year or two is much more likely....I'm leaning at 3 yrs if things stay the way they are I will be here until the end though just like with CB 1.

Lets ask for force powers so when they are released CB3 must be released to fix it.
