Most powerful slot on a character (in Debates)

No, not another exbow thread!!!

But I had a discussion in CB with another player about this topic and we highly disagree.

S/he says it is the missile weapon slot. I, for one, disagree.

I say it is the tattoo slot.

Not to bias anyone, but what are your opinions and more importantly why.

Is it the tattoo or the armor/shield?

I am looking for the one slot.

Whether the body armor slot, the missile weapon, the tattoo slot, The shield slot, the etc...

It does not have to be the missile weapon slot (obviously on a tank) or the tattoo slot. I can be any on a character.

Sorry meant Armor and Cloak / Tattoo. Not shield.

Tattoo or Armor/Cloak Slot I can get much more from this slot than a ranged weapon because I can get the best of both worlds from it. E.G. I can have a familiar and kill slot as well as a damage source all in one shot. Another example: I can get strength, Dex and PTH added with that one inclusive slot. The lists can keep going but I'm sure that my point is made ;-)

Going first is all that really matters, the FF and SF are both underpowered and without DM incapable of killing in ranged. Nothing else in the tat slot compares...

The original question is a tad bit misleading :P

On a certain team or on a certain minion, given a certain strategy, you can say "this item here is the most important" (meaning, the lack of that item would cause the worst "damage" to the strategy), so you would associate the corresponding slot to be "the best", for that strategy.

But you can't say universally "this is the best item" (and therefore can't say "this is the best slot")... it's like asking, what's the best organ or body part: the heart, the liver, the stomach, the kidneys, etc - missing either one (or, well, both for those that have pairs) will result in death sooner rather than later... and even for those that are not essential for life can be essential for quality of life (eyes, for instance, or fingers).

At best, the answer can be answered statistically, and even then, the one in the top "importance" slot won't be much above the one in slot two, and even that would be highly subjective depending on the current state of the metagame (or better said, the current top-level gearout).

That being said, for my particular current strategy, the most important slot (in the sense that my results would suffer the greatest negative effects by the removal of what's in that particular slot) _IS_ the ranged weapon slot.

By most important if you mean the most impact on a team, yes the tat slot have the most impact on any team but come with the highest PR impact, i am really not convince that is PR/impact is positive.

As for the strongest slot helmet and gloves are my fav. Corn is the strongest item in the game at 0.5 PR weight for 2% bonus to Ench. Most E will have around 75% of there EXP invest on a E so the ratio is 3/1.

Well the Missile Weapon slot would be worthless on a FB/MM mage, but probably the most important slot for an Archer. ;)

Overall, I have to echo the Tattoo/Body Armour slot (who cares about the cloak, really...).

Tattoo versus TSA/BoE/Gi. Really the most important choice.

As for second place, I'd go for Amulet, just for the sheer dependence some strats have on it. You can't run a familiar without one, and Invisibility is strategy defining.

But for Archers/Tanks, the Weapon choice is probably just as important.

I'm going to have to agree with sickone and say that it completely depends on the actual strategy the person is using.

If we are talking most powerful slot in terms of -potential-, not taking into account any strategy, just speaking purely numbers, hands down the ranged slot.

^ Forgot to mention that also like sickone said that still ends up being highly subjective.

The forging hammer is the most powerful weapon in this game.
