Clan death spiral.. (in General)

...we're down to 5 people in clans with a score between 5.2M and 9.1M. And down to 31 total people (not in my clan) between 4.5M and 9.9M.

This shrinking population is causing a viscous downward spiral of shorter fight lists -> more people in negative points -> more people dropping out -> even shorter fight lists...

Clans are about to become a 6/20 only game unless we have some changes...

I'm not sure what the best route is, my first idea would be cutting the negative points down for non-6/20 members encouraging clans to recruit / support up and coming characters more. Potentially 75% at 7/20, 50% at 8/20+ -- thoughts?

I think this hits on many things that point towards player retention. Unfortunately until the underlying problems are acknowledged, addressed and then worked on AND completed,(Unlike Clan Rituals and the 100 Papercuts Project to name a few.), we will simply have to work with what we have and hope for the best. Remember that CB2 only has volunteer work being done in spare time so intensive work will probably fall by the wayside.

It is most certainly NOT negative to point out and remind ppl of the truth.

Q: Are Clan Rituals Completed?
A: No as admitted by the creator Nat.

Q: Has the 100 Papercuts Project been computed?
A: No roughly 28 projects are still pending.

Q: Does CB have a paid developer?
A: No everything is done on a voluntary basis even by NS himself.

No if you want another suggestion to stack onto the pile we already have then ok.

Take away Clan Join Fees, add in Clan Weekly Bonuses awarded on an individual basis eg the entire clan gets a weekly bonus clan MVP via CPs gets a 20% Bonus to Cash/EXP rewards for a day, then a percentage lower for each subsequent member lower in CPs. (Note the numbers are an example they can be changed.) Have the clan vault installed from the 100 Papercuts Project so loaning items to new members is quick, easy and hands free for the loaner. Have lower Regen Rates lose less CPs to Higher Regen Rates if 2 or More. Add in a Clan Structure like Leader, Co-Captain etc.(dudemus or sickones idea but I fully support it.)

Since everything else is purely a strictly positive-sum competition in CB, we might as well reduce the clan create/join fees, remove the drain on scores when attacked, and rejigger the clan point gains for fighting people in high-scoring clans.

This should prevent most people from leaving clans (there's very little incentive to kick somebody out, even if they barely bring a bit of points to the clan, as long as there's still space left) and make it easier // more attractive for newcomers AND NCB RUNNERS for joining and sticking with clans.

Or at the very least put a cap on the number of clan points any 1 character can take from another. Perhaps 500 a day max.

I think we should remove the bonus to rewards and have clans serve their purpose, competition.

Have clan points do something totally different in addition to ranking clans. Every 1000 points you generate 10k in blacksmith credits, regardless of your positive or negative score. Something like that.

how bout clans sort of boosts playing by giving 5 additional BA every 40 minutes? can be done that the clan has to have atleast 1000 gathered CP's or so, so it cant be abused. this way clans stimulate the player to play more, whilst also make it more competitive (or how you write it)

Admin run 'clans' filled with 'NPC' teams created from teams already donated.

Mark these teams so that they never disband, and have NPCs for clan members to beat on.

Maybe make so that these only give the most minimal CPs, as they don't fight back, but at least there's an option.

You could also persuade Admin to actually log onto these teams and fight with them, if it would help.

If you mean making NPC type clans from donated characters, this might have to be done multiple times because they don't generate positive clan points themselves...

Perhaps if some of the higher MPR characters hire more minions we can have a higher 6-7Mish score. If equipped properly.

I would also add in if NCB BA rates were not so high then more ppl would be open to running NCBs while in a Clan. More often than not what makes NCB runners leave a clan(or change out their NCB char) is that BA is prohibitively expensive and as a result they do not buy. Well if you do not buy BA and you get to certain areas of MPR it is nigh impossible for the NCB runner to stay in positive CPs. Another thing to add to the list would be to have NCBs have fewer CPs taken from them until they hit 7/20.
