Would you donate USD? (in General)

Would you donate USD to CB to remove the BA allowance?

How much USD do you think it would take for the Admins to remove it for us?

If we start a list of pledges and offer a concrete amount that grows over time we would eventually be successful wouldn't we?

I will donate $10 USD to remove the BA allowance.

How about you?

QBRanger October 6 2011 1:21 PM EDT

I am against removing the BA allowance.

Makes people actually have to log in a couple times a day to play if they want to grow.

Reyth October 6 2011 1:21 PM EDT

Ok, let me clarify. I mean remove the allowance AND the cap; in other words don't even count BA at all.

Escuro October 6 2011 1:27 PM EDT

How would you then balance rewards?

QBOddBird October 6 2011 1:28 PM EDT

I might donate USD to prevent this from happening

Areodjarekput October 6 2011 1:29 PM EDT

I agree. I'd hate to see CB become a game where whoever can hit enter the most times grows the fastest.

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 6 2011 1:29 PM EDT

This would change it back to CB 1 days in a way I'm kinda for it. However this would cause more problems, namely with the N*B system. If there was a checks and balances system put in place along with the removal of the BA Allowance/Cap you would have me 100%!

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] October 6 2011 1:31 PM EDT

I'd donate $25 for a new supporter item, and buy it when it came out.

Now who's with ME!!!!!

QBOddBird October 6 2011 1:31 PM EDT

I -am- on board, however, for greatly increasing the BA regen rate.

QBsutekh137 October 6 2011 1:36 PM EDT

This would change it back to CB 1 days...

CB1 never had unlimited BA except very, very early on (before I started), and I think it was only during a time considered to be more beta than anything else...

Reyth October 6 2011 1:36 PM EDT

Maybe as a compromise I am also thinking of a way where BA could be purchased at a rate that matches earnings. That way if a person wanted to spend all of their earnings on BA they could. It would effectively eliminate BA if a player wanted to pay CBD for it.

Areodjarekput October 6 2011 1:38 PM EDT

Imagine what I could do with 300M CBD...

Reyth October 6 2011 1:43 PM EDT

Ya I was just thinking about that...

Well maybe the answer is to increase the frequency of BA allocation; like every 5 minutes would be good. :)

Reyth October 6 2011 1:45 PM EDT

Ya I played CB1 when it was a free-for-all and it rocked.

Btw, I feel like a cripple: what is the HTML for quote tags??

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] October 6 2011 1:48 PM EDT

type in the > symbol, then a space, and then paste the quote.

+1. If anything, the game's time-constraint needs to increase to separate wheat from chaff. And like Titan said, I'd be more interesting in donating USD to get other updates moving along.

Reyth October 6 2011 1:57 PM EDT

Here's me waiting for the 20 minute BA:

QBRanger October 6 2011 2:22 PM EDT

I would prefer going back to the 10 min BA regeneration rate.

This 20 min, esp at 6 regeneration leads to fewer fights. And each fight, esp on a NCB means a lot. Esp for loses.

QBOddBird October 6 2011 2:25 PM EDT

Agreed, Ranger.

Plus it opens up more room for competition - 6/20 is too easy to hit every BA.

Decreased individual BA value + increased range of BA hit between top competitive players, and it would allow for more "test fights" and stuff since the individual BA isn't as valuable

And since some players won't be able to keep up with 6/10, there's a bit more room to fiddle with training without putting yourself permanently behind the pack

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 6 2011 2:31 PM EDT

I am against this. I remember in cb1 early days there was no limit and I was easily able to catch up and get 1st, only because I dedicated a few days to pressing enter.

1 option I would like is being able to change your rate with a sacrifice to rewards (or improvement depending on mpr) . I personally don't think someone new should be punished at 10/20 because they just started. Something like could however drastically skew Clan points.

Another option could be supporters have a cap at 200.

Or..each BA regen rate has a different max cap.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] October 6 2011 2:39 PM EDT

as titan stated yesterday, even if we could return to the other ba i think this change is less of a priority than others due to the fact that it is functional in its current state.

Reyth October 6 2011 3:14 PM EDT

Actually its not like its such a big deal to cut the allocation time in half.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] October 6 2011 3:16 PM EDT

when the devs did it going from 10 to 20, rewards were doubled. they would need to be halved again.

Lord Bob October 6 2011 3:19 PM EDT

Would you donate USD to CB to remove the BA allowance?
No.

And I prefer the x/20 system with doubled rewards.

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] October 6 2011 3:28 PM EDT

No I wouldn't, but I would donate specifically for more dev time, which I think is one of the more important things we need to focus on. Without real Dev time, all the things any of the community ever proposes will likely never see the light of day.

I like the X/20 system as well, but I would like to see Tasha's idea of allowing a person to choose which x/20 they want to be in. Do you want less BA for more rewards but a longer time to have to wait to burn it? Or would you like to stay at 10/20 with lower rewards but more BA to play with. It would kind of be like a difficulty system IMO.

Tasha obviously knows the details of the idea better then I, but when she explained it to me I completely agreed with it.

Josh [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 6 2011 3:32 PM EDT

No one really acknowledges that forging would also be effected by this. We've already established unlimited BA would be bad, but give me $15mil (which I could make spamming enter for a couple hours) and I will have 100mil NW in couple hours.

I think we can leave regen times alone. What I would be more interested in is a new realm with no N*B, its own BA, and you can only fight characters in that realm. It would also have its own stores, auction house, etc. but with transfers also turned off. Essentially the tournament already does some of this stuff, so it's possible that the solution could be making the ability to run multiple tournaments.

If we go the tournament route my hope would be it was never ending or 1 year or longer with fantastic rewards for finishing in first in all different kinds of categories (MPR, Score, Forging, Clan Points, etc.)

Summarize. A new CB within CB2 either by making a new realm/tournament but cut off from CB2 COMPLETELY and no transferring to remove USD from the equation.

This would also allow people to run 2 characters if they want, thus adding BA to burn.

I proposed such a tourney a bit ago, but Nat explained there will be large obstacles involved. Such as the T characters effecting the regular characters score. Like what recently happened. It would likely need to be on a seperate server or seperate program, analogous to a CB3 of sorts.

Josh [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 6 2011 3:49 PM EDT

I thought I made it clear that it would be cut off from CB2 completely, basically on its own little island.

I acknowledge large obstacles but isn't this whole thread about donating a bunch of money to get something done anyway?

QBRanger October 6 2011 3:51 PM EDT

It seems there are many people who want different things done.

Sorry I missed your obvious statement of having it seperate from CB2. I will try to do better next time as not to get yell at again :)
