Brainstorming: a maug warrior and his toys (in General)

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 25 2012 3:43 AM EDT

This is what I'm working with. I'd like to spend a little while tomorrow trying different things out. I'm likely to just go back to the RoBF and increase my melee weapon damage, any other suggestions are welcome. This is why the ToA doesn't cut it (one of many reasons actually)...

Quyen March 25 2012 4:56 AM EDT

try a familiar :D

lostling March 25 2012 7:43 AM EDT

i would say SOC + MH :)

stabilo [Lonesome fighter] March 25 2012 7:44 AM EDT

buy an hxbow which might soon aim exbow-wearers first and kill them before they shoot back ;-)

lostling March 25 2012 10:03 AM EDT

=x besides if you have a problem with exbows you might wana try TOE for a tatt... like seriously

QBJohnnywas March 25 2012 11:27 AM EDT

Toe and axbow. Worked for me last char.

QBPit Spawn [Abyssal Specters] March 25 2012 11:42 AM EDT

You open at all to trying a tatless strat? i suggested one to you before.

QBJohnnywas March 25 2012 11:45 AM EDT

Yeah, that was other thought, no tattoo at all, TSA, EC, SoC with Morg/Mod

lostling March 25 2012 11:46 AM EDT

:) i dont know tattless seems kinda fail to me :D

QBJohnnywas March 25 2012 12:00 PM EDT

Working without a tatt is perfectly fine, especially for a tank. Of course a TSA tank would work better with say a second minion with ToE or RBF, but I don't think you're going to add any minions are you Nov?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 25 2012 12:05 PM EDT

minions are all short term gain when your goal is 100m HP

I do plan to eventually go tatless, but so far the tat has proven more effective

QBJohnnywas March 25 2012 12:12 PM EDT

100 mill HP? So what, 3 mill regen a round from a TSA? Plus if you SoC/Morg rather than MoD,...nice.

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] March 25 2012 12:16 PM EDT

Ever think about a jiggy junction using a soc+mod/morg? thats like another 10m HP added to your team, plus it should beat out your stats after the junction so that it takes exbow drains before you allowing you a round to fire yours off, will also help block decays, and serve as a buffer from robf teams.

Just a thought, seemed like a better option then a halidon for those purposes to me. Its either that or just go back to using either an EF or RoBF.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 25 2012 12:34 PM EDT

I hadn't, but now I sure am...

QBRanger March 25 2012 4:02 PM EDT

Unless you junction a jiggly with a lot of UC, at the top levels of play it is not very good.

Unless you go with a second minion, at least as a tattoo holder, you are losing a lot of power not being able to use a TSA on your minion.

I think the RBF is your best bet by far as a single mInion.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 25 2012 8:08 PM EDT

A HP based Tank just screams for a TSA.

Insane regen, and extra STR.

It's a sad fact of CB that it's so biased agianst single minion teams, and they lose out on the ability to use the powerful TSA with a Tattoo.

But I've mentioned that enough times in the past. ;)

King March 25 2012 9:04 PM EDT

With the size of Nov's tat the jiggy is guaranteed to have about 240 Effect UC +/- penalties so roughly 80 evasion + the dbs... it actually might work fairly well as a counter to other tanks, even without junctioned UC, depending on how the evasion stacks up.

Sickone March 25 2012 9:53 PM EDT

Waaait a second... what's with the equipment interface list and why are there so many items there ?
And why can't I get it too ?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 25 2012 9:59 PM EDT

Didn't mean to brag, but that's pretty much the sole perk an A gets you

Sickone March 25 2012 10:03 PM EDT

So it's not that it can't be done for everybody because of some coding restrictions or anything like that, just that Jon chose to not do it for everybody ? Great.
As for other admin perks, I can think of quite a few things that would be enough of an incentive, but, eh.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 25 2012 10:36 PM EDT

It's been one of the top suggestions for an added purchasable perk, and I'd happily pony up for it even as an admin.

QBRanger March 25 2012 11:41 PM EDT

Novice,

Admins are players. Their admin powers are great. However, this gives admins a nice perk in game play that others of us do not have. I certainly realize that admins need this feature to do their admin functions. I also thought admins had specific characters with which to do this.

This is really disappointing to me to know admins really have this feature on their playable characters. I think it should be added as a general Supporter feature. As soon as possible.

This will make things so much easier for a lot of people. And is not easier good for CB?

However, this is my own personal feeling, as Ranger, and I do not and cannot speak for the rest of the non-Admin players.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 25 2012 11:49 PM EDT

Truth be told I avoided using it on my main for as long as I could stand, given that the limit was put in place for a reason. When I started working on having every possible item for my minion ready to go I started taking advantage. In the spirit of fair play I'll be happy to go back to shuffling items around until such time as there is an option for all users. I do however think it should be along the same lines as having extra character slots and the other super supporter suggestions that have previously come up.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 25 2012 11:51 PM EDT

Easier has never proven to be better from my perspective, in fact I think it's proven to be quite the opposite.

Atomicboy [The Knighthood] March 25 2012 11:53 PM EDT

I think you have contributed enough to this game to deserve those features. I am not jealous.

BestNUB March 26 2012 12:10 AM EDT

I see it as a superficial perk really. There are more than enough character slots to hold items. The real advantage is the equipping, transferring and unequipping convenience with all the items on one char. Am i missing something else?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 26 2012 12:15 AM EDT

AB: thank you, my point is that I could say the same for Ranger, or a dozen other folks

His point is valid, and if for no other reason than respect for him I can easily oblige his request in spirit if not in actuality.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 26 2012 12:30 AM EDT

ooo here's the best part of this... because I have an admin char taking up a char slot I'm actually extra limited in how many item slots I have

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 26 2012 12:39 AM EDT

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 26 2012 12:57 AM EDT

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 26 2012 4:37 AM EDT

Heh. So a non optimised Junctioned Tattoo is better than a home grown single minion.

Joys. ;)

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] March 26 2012 8:09 AM EDT

Junctioned Tattoo

Perhaps maybe my least part of the actual gameplay of CB is the powerfulness of tattoos in battle.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 26 2012 12:08 PM EDT

Aye, they're far too powerful and defining.

Which is especially evident for poor old single minion teams...

QBRanger March 26 2012 12:26 PM EDT

I think from the beginning of CB2 we all knew tattoos were powerful and could be uber powerful.

This is nothing new.

We also knew that single minions would be at a large disadvantage in CB2 due to the fact you cannot use armor and a cloak with a tattoo.

Nothing in this respect is new.

If you still, despite all the problems of running a single minion still decide to do so, then you have to accept the limitations and find a way around them, or accept you will be at a disadvantage vs multi minion characters.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] March 26 2012 12:31 PM EDT

I've said for 3 years that tattoos were so strong. Doesn't mean I'm not going to use them to the best of my ability :P

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] March 26 2012 1:13 PM EDT

Lol, I knew I'd be right about its stats beating yours, barring HP of course. Has it helped any or is it more of the same? That was the only thing I wasn't sure about.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 26 2012 2:12 PM EDT

LoL Ranger;

Nothing in this respect is new.

What is? ;)

QBRanger March 26 2012 5:30 PM EDT

So,

How is the JKF working out?

Better or worse than the RBF?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 26 2012 6:06 PM EDT

Is a BoM not better than a MS?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 26 2012 6:48 PM EDT

It helps gain me a round or two against the big SG users, but overall isn't as effective as the RoBF.

The BoM would likely be better, but I hadn't had much chance to fiddle beyond the initial swap. I kept the MS to help with GA teams, but it's still not nearly enough to really slow them down.
