I've seen a lot of posts lately about people needing forgers but never getting hold of one.
I was just wanting to know how available forgers are for your gear and how long roughly the waiting times are, if any.
Please select an option and leave any relevant comments.

I dont see an option for forge it yourself :O First?

Scy

Then you wouldn't be looking for a forger :P

None of the above.

I've never had a problem getting a good forger pretty much immediately upon request. They've always exceeded my expectations. I guess I've just been very lucky with forgers.

The reason I don't use them too often is that I can't afford to be without any one of my weapons for an extended period, so I use the blacksmith so I can get back to fighting immediately.

Forging sucks. BOOST FORGING!!!

-- {Wookie}-Jir.Vr-

Agreed.

Forgers should get a boost somehow.

-- Lord Bob

Yeah, boost forging!

Having said that with large weapons it's not so easy to use a forger - not many weapons around to stand in for mine!

Time, it is all about time.

I would like to have my stuff forged, however, the time involved is typically too long to get the NW needed. And getting a replacement item is sometimes impossible, especially with higher NW weapons.

Someone stated an idea about letting people forge items while on another character. If that gets allowed, forgers will see a huge increase in demand/business.

...

i just thought about one of the comments about about not having your gear leave the character, i like that.

but if it were to work more like rentals so forgers can pick up another item faster so there is no downtime. and the player looking for this service would have to have the money upfront for it to enter the system.

once the term of the forging period is over then those changes would reflect on the item the player has. kinda to say you ahve the weapon equipped but only after a week will its stats increase rather than daily.

bs!

i have always used the blacksmith because it is easy and i am too lazy to try to find a forger, go through all the pr crap and not have my item in the interim. ; )

I think the best way to boost forging would be to make clans relevant to forgers. Basically, you could loan an item to a clan, rather than a single character. Each member of the clan could then forge the item. A large enough clan could tack on 2-3 mil nw in a day, allowing large weapons to be returned to the owners quickly. This would also probably make forgers more common since they would be able to charge more for faster service.

Sarcasm follows

Anybody who forges is either stupid or a communist, they could make more money fighting.
It is not in my nature to enable stupid people nor communists, so I always use Blacksmith LTD, the fast and affordable company for your everyday needs.
--sarcasm ends--

Joking aside, I really can't understand people that forge - it's not like forging is easier to do than fighting, even with a pretty lousy fight list you can earn the same amount or even more cash (especially after you also consider tattoo growth), while also earning XP.
Forging sucks, it needs a very powerful boost.

Forging is worth it but not by much

Forging actually does net you more money unless you are fighting in the 80-100% challenge bonus area or are just really really lucky with the drops.

-- AdminNemesia

But if you use a tattoo, you lose tattoo growth forging. And a larger tattoo = more NW.

Agree with bobbo

I never have to wait. I get offers instantly. I offer to pay like 70 to 75%. Anyway, I haven't done it in ages.

-- Flamey

It was hard for me

Until, Aera Cura offered to take my job. If he ever forges again, what a class act, hands down.

-- kevlar

Generally, I try to insta, because it's about the same cost as a forger but instant.

Otherwise, I forge them myself (what I've tended to do recently).

Unforgable/Insta'd/BSed Gear

Most of the stuff I have that I actually put money into is BS only like my ELB. The rest I insta'd because of necessity, if I had a replacement I would definitely go the Forger Route!
