What do you personally hope the supporter item is? (in General)

What was it the TSA did in CB1 again?
Didn't it add ST and BL?
I like that idea for the BoM. I wanna do that and then release the Razor Shield as voted on in the
"Poll of Supporter Items We Want But Jon Isn't Really Going To Give Us, Just Tease Us With" as the next Power Shield, and then we'd have three. A new Supporter Item and improved Power Shield section double whammy change - yeah!
If not that, some kind of mage item. At least a mage counterpart to the ToA that adds free experience, to make up for all the reduction to their EXPERIENCE based damage. Let's count this up here:
Damage Reductions:
Elven Hauberk
Mage Shield
AMF
ToE
RoBF
Protection
AC's +
PL's 10%
(I do not count the Mageseeker in this list because I consider it a buff to mages, since seeker ammunition no longer can be equipped on EVERY ranged weapon out there.)
And we won't forget the TSA's HP regeneration after all this damage reduction.
Mage Specific Items:
Cloak of the Istari
Alatar's Gloves
Noldorin Spellcasters
...Man, that's a short list.
So what about
you? What's your hope for this month's Supporter Item?

Something which helps tanks without ranged weapons to survive ranged rounds :p

HoC. It is quite successful and a bit overpriced, I paid 600k for mine ;-D
"An Amulet of Optic Ouch.
Nullifies the effects of an enemy's equipped Helm of Clearsight."
"An Amulet of Server Time Archer Nerfing
Reduces a % of ranged attack damage equivalent to the number of seconds shown by the Server Clock."
Seriously though, something than reduces Ranged Damage at the cost of...I dunno, PTH? DX? (A tank thing, so mages are less penalized) Let's say a huge tower shield. You can use it to protect yourself from arrows but it makes you cumbersome when trying to attack.

An amulet that gave the equipped minion a percentage of any EDs cast on the enemy minions based on the plus.

Something, ANYTHING, for mages. Tanks have enough toys already.

A 2007 CB T-shirt [0]
This is a body armor. +1% bonus to DD for every plus-to-hit, with a NW curve about the same as AG's or a Corn.
*sigh*, yeah I know, not very original.

Amulet that adds DD by %, I thought it would be a pretty decent item, mages have to choose invisibility or this DD (I obviously would choose AoI). Basically can only be used by single minion or 2 minion, and we all know that 4 minions archer/tank/some mage teams kill those 1-2 minions mage team. :)

A Dex Helm does indeed sound nice.
Add to that the +1% to skills perk, and it would make a nice complement for my team :)

Hatchet, for the 2nd two, all he did was switch the TSA and EH's abilities and make the TSA regen. Noldorin's, I suppose you can explain those off as Asbestos Gauntlets...but why lose the cool name for Noldorin? *shrugs*
Still. That has nothing to do with the question at hand, so back on topic we go! What is your hope for this month's Supporter Item?
A Shield that returns Damage, GA style.
A shield that reduces Ranged damage by a percent per point.

i second GL. a shield that reduces physical damage by a percent per point would lay waste to melee tanks, however, restricting the reduction to purely ranged, wont shatter ranged strats, but will provide a bit of a speed bump. Great! New options without destroying what balance there is in-tact.

I like the mage amulet that boost DD spell. Sounds like a good idea. The Shield that blocks a % of physical ranged damage gives people more of a choice, infact, thats a brilliant item. We need a mage shield. Not a Mage Shield, but a shield for mages that will help against all the items that nulify their spells, noldorin's gloves add a bit of choice, but still do not help too great, if they stopped a percentage of damage reduction however, they would be great, and maybe a different upgrade curve to go a long with it.
I've been saying this for a while now, mages need some help. Be it with a new item that helps, or a free retrain.

Mage items. Staff, amulet, helm, body armor, shield, leggings... anything. BUT NOT a Cloak and NOT gloves. Please, do not give another "boost" to mages that really isn't a boost.

Over the last couple of weeks I have thought of a couple of different item possibilities.
1. Elven Hood(helm) 2(?) each + adds 1% Dex and Skills.
I feel the elven gear is incomplete this would be a nice addition.
2. Elven Circlet(helm) 2(?) a.each + reduces physical damage by 2%. or b.each + reduces the effects of all enchantments on the wearer by 2%.
This is another thought to complete elven gear.
3.Troll Skull(helm) 4(?) Each + increases BASE hit points by 1%.
This would be a cool addition to complement the TSA
4. Dragon Skin Cloak 14(?) Each + decreases magical damage by 1%.....reduction of 2%(or more?) to STR,Skills,DEX due to weight.
I know it is another magic reduction item but Dragons are often depicted as magically resistant.
Dragon Scale Shield 20(?) each + decreases physical damage by 1%.Reduction of 3%(or more?) to STR,Skills,DEX.
Dragon Scales in many stories are indestructable.
One last point I would like to make.I think all shields should reduce physical ranged damage based on their size class.this would make them useful in spite of reductions to stats for tanks and make it so that there is a logical way to decrease the often complained about ranged damage.Shields were not only useful in real battles they were indispensible when it came to arrows.
Some of these ideas benefit different strats in different ways but the bottom line is I think we need more variety in equipment since that would lead to more variety in strats.I haven't thought of too many glove or boot ideas yet but we could use some more choices there too.

By the way where is the Dwarven gear? :)
Dwarven Breastplate?
Dwarven Axe?

Ohhh, this idea rocks. Muchly.
maybe something to boost mages damages, Like a mage shield, but adds + to spells, but removes the ability for said mage to train skills..... ie. evasion ;)
or reintroduce the coi with some major penalty like that....

A Mage item makes sense.
Boots of Tom Bombadil..?
I'm scratching my head for magely items, and can't seem to think of anything.
Going with the Alatar's Gloves, we could also have Pallando's Shield. Not exactly sure what it would do, except that it'd be a shield for mages.
Curumo's Staff? A mage weapon? I'm not sure how good of an idea it is. Basically it'd just be a mechanism to have another item that offers mage buffs. It wouldn't actually serve direct attack purpose.

A mage staff that increases all spells (DD, EO, ED, Skill, etc.) at an increasing cost to HP. First round it subtracts 5% of HP, second round 15% remaining HP, and so on. The bonus would not increase Ablative Shield (or maybe just not for the minion with the staff?). Think Dark Arts here, a huge benefit at a huge cost?

I would ike to see a dex helm as stated before.
My reasoning is that a mage or archer will have then a choice to use a HoC and get an extra attack or use the new dex helm and get more benefit to their skills (evasion or archery) and more dex to try to hit evasion.
Choice is good. RIght now there is no real choice for mages and archers. Use the HoC since nothing else exists to give a real choice.

And drop their damage enough that they have a REASON to want more Strength, and bring the HoE back into play!

A type of mage armor that takes a percentage of damage received and adds that percentage to the next spell cast by the mage? Automaticly cast at the damage dealer (cast not auto hit). I don't know. I'm tired.
Which makes me think of a sword of answering. 1 hit per round (additional) at a higher cth to the attacker. Hey, it could be a mage sword. Lower damage / really high cth, only sword to work WITH DD.
(When you call me crazy just please don't shout.) : I

I get it - another mage attack per round, but the opponent attacker (if tank) gets higher CTH...what do opponent mages get?
Or maybe I misunderstand? I'm not sure, that one was hard to follow. O_o
j'bob
September 28 2007 3:57 PM EDT
yeah, that one was hard to follow. What I ment was the mage gets an additional hit, either an automatic hit or just a hit at a MUCH higher CTH on the attacker but just not a devestatingly high damage. Just a thought.
Flaming monkey pitfighting boots - allows UC strikes with the feet, granting another attack each round at a lowered to hit, and raised damage.
Three or four times more expensive than usual.
