Sometime between 6am and 2pm Saturday the 17th (server time) ill be dropping in rare items to the store.
Congratulations on those who get them.
I believe Kefeck will be joining me in the items drops.
If anyone would like to donate to the cause CM me.
This is to let new players get the feel of what camping is all about.
Yep. This will be fun =D.
What's the point of letting new players get the feel of something that's not a part of the game anymore? I would love if it came back, but...I don't think it will. Ever.
The point is sometimes in chat people bring up camping and the new players don't know what they are talking about.
Camping was exciting maybe this will bring a little excitement back into CB.

i thought you were a new player actually.
I am on CB2 but i played a little bit on CB
Make sure that the store spawns all added items before you add anymore, otherwise everything you sell will appear in the store in one big bulk, and whoever sees it first gets the loot. Of course, the store doesn't respawn very quickly, so uhh... You might have to invest a bit more time than intended...

...what?
I've explained to Rave that items sold to the store appear immediately.
is the Cool down still in effect?

I pretty much agree with Amarth. :-/
It's a real shame that the cheaters spoiled camping for everyone. :(
Do cheaters help anything? Thats why i hate playing PC games, tis why i switched to console.

There's a 20 minute cooldown period, but I'm not sure if that applies to everyone or if it's just tournament characters - I don't really buy from the store unless I'm playing in a tournament, so I'm not entirely sure.

If you would have had it your time someone else would have been "forced" to get up in the middle of the night. Stop acting like a baby...
There was a trick to it gogeta that i dont think you figured out.

/me giggles at the actual 9 o'clock (western) start time.
Soul Eater
January 17 2009 3:30 PM EST
lol that's not true, you could have moved it to 9am then I could've at least gotten up at 6am instead of freakin 3am. And I'm not acting like a baby I'm just upset with the fact that they always make the times way to early for us on the west coast.

Gogeta: not everyone lives in the same timezone, most Europeans are also well asleep at certain activity times so it's no use making a fuss about it...

Great fun contest Tal... I even poked my head in the store a few time (oh the sweet rush of camping!)
~sigh~ now I miss camping again... lol
PS. As for the complainers: He gave his own stuff away FOR FREE (or almost at least). You dare complain that you didn't get any? That disgusts me in ways I could only explain while earning a 6 month forum ban.
Rawr
January 17 2009 4:28 PM EST
Gogeta- I'm on the west coast ;)
why complain if you didn't get any? that was the point of camping, you had to be quick. and note in actual camping you didn't get the so-and-so sold something to the store in community part they just spawned.
Well, if you feel depressed by not getting anything, you got the other half of the camping rush - which was the camping depression. Camping produced far more losers than winners. At least it does not cost you any BAs to fail, and you are not up against folks using scripts to grab things. I always hated camping, but I can see why those who succeeded at it loved it.
This kinda reminds me about a funny story that happened in the Netherlands some time ago.
The story goes that a woman was member of zip code lottery for over 10 years but didn't won anything in those 10 years she was member. So she decided to stop the membership.
But the irony was that a few weeks after she quit the lottery the grand prize fell in her zip code area. (everyone in that zipcode that holds a ticket wins something)
Double the irony is that all of her neighbors (living in an apartment complex) all had tickets for that lottery. So everyone around her won a couple hundred thousands up to millions and she was left out.
Well you can guess she wasn't amused by that...
Ow I might want to add that she tried, in civil lawsuit, demanding money from the lottery because of psychological damages.
Of course the judge overruled this and she didn't got anything.
Moral of the story: whining doesn't work, you had your chance and you blew it.
Ah yes the good ole days. Man against machine. The epic struggle for rare item dominance. Fueling your characters with your hard won gear. I certainly felt the agony of defeat more than once, but I will admit, it was greatly out weighed by the thrill of victory.
I got pretty good at predicting when to hit the store hard and what to look for. I lost a couple times to people I know who were using performance enhancing....scripts, but I beat those same people as well.
Camping...drool...sheer ecstasy, ah yes the good ole days.

camping just sounds so idiotic to me, hehe. I guess I would have had to experience it. I'm very glad that got changed.
If some people miss it, why not spawn some random things once in a while? And it doesn't have to be items, you could make an item that is worth some money, say 10,000k or incremental values upwards to whatever and have them spawn. Items that aren't equipable but can be sold directly back to the system for a cash reward?
