really is
abilities as in UC for Hal and BL for Jiggy? o.O

Now you can have a skill, instead of junction, going with your familiar.

I would think the ability of the items rather than the skill's ability. I wonder what the point of upgrading it will be, maybe just small AC?

Junctioned familiars are already the overpowered flavor of the month. No need to make it even more unbalanced.
i don't think people realize it's in the special store and isn't just a suggestion.
You cant have 2 Amulets so it actually doesn't help out mage familiars that much.

But for ToJ and for Hal..this is incredible.

March 7 2009 2:05 AM EST
heh, Z has one.
This is horrible, why are we now giving boosts to the most overpowered strat in the game (junctioned hals)
Give me a break
/end rant
most overpowered? Can't see that.

Is it worth sacrificing the HP gained from the AoF AS deal?

March 7 2009 2:16 AM EST
not to mention the DD boost from a junctioned AoF.... this is choice, not a buff
Your Noldorins and Belegs are not "abilities"... Bloodlust, Evasion, and UC, however, are.. ^_^
Wow, bloodlusted Jiggy, here it comes!
QBOddBird
March 7 2009 2:26 AM EST
oh wow I didn't think about that, kickbutt!!
but by that definition, by training enchantments it gives the familiar the "ability" to cast the same enchantments, hence doubling the effect.
great! Another DM buff!! >:(

I didn't notice a difference when I used an AoJ and train BL... The damage didn't really increase... Does BL get junctioned over? If my minion dies does this effect stop?

i would prefer an amulet of farming which when put it on, it let you attack the same opponent more than 1 time per 30 seconds..hahaha
but concerning the amulet of junction, i totally agree with you TheHatchetman[158.3] too bad this will buff DM... but the AoJ seem fun, i cant wait to try it !

On the notes on the item it says not upgradeable. Jon's is a +5. Is the one you buy upgradeable?
Vague description, no changelog post, seems familiar ;) Is there a precedent on the definition of the word ability here?
I'd wait for the changelog post before drawing any conclusions, unless someone with one can enlighten us as to its effect.

The AoJ is non-upgradeable in the blacksmith and forge...
So the AoJ lets you have a skill on your familiar and cast a ED/EO twice?
Another item that I can't use.
(That was just a joke, by-the-way.)
BL/Jiggy. Sweet.
This is gonna be insane :/

I would much rather have the extra HP from the AoF over the free junction.
However, I would wait to see all its effects.
Is the AoJ just in the special items store or is it possible to get one for $6?
AoF + Familiar say bye bye
I'm betting Junction is no longer a skill.
Personally I think it gives a base Junction or a boost to Junction already in place therefore freeing up some Exp for other things. I have not seen any other effects as of yet but of course I am not a pro in the New Items Testing Department :)

It certainly at this point does not give junction 1.0.
I tested my AoF vs the AoJ and my junction was .69 with the AoJ.
My strength on my HF went from just over 2M to 1.5M in battle.
So right now I am at a loss on what this amulet does.
And given it is not upgradeable, I really am clueless.

clearly jons is +5, perhaps hes just denied the ability to upgrade it until its done being balanced?

having not experimented with one I'm going to rely on my reading skills:
"Bonds wearer's abilitys to familiar"
ie: tat holder trains evasion, adds AoJ and le voila, familiar has evasion...
QBOddBird
March 7 2009 1:16 PM EST
Given that Jon never really officially released it or anything, how much you wanna bet he's still experimenting with it and you're not actually supposed to have yours yet? :P

If we were not supposed to have it, why offer it now in the store?
But, if it only gives skills trained to the familiar and not effects of items like the junction skill, why would anyone use it instead of the AoF?
All DD familiars get a massive bonus from using NSC/AG and a HOC via junction. Also, do not forget the bonus HP from AS. And the bonus to DD level. This far outweighs any benefit from evasion.
A HF gets the HoC and bonus HP from AS. Also increased damage with BG, more dex from EBs or evasion from DBs.
Perhaps using BL on the JKF is nice, however, I would prefer to use junction and get the benefits of HGs and the HP boost from AS.
True, not all characters using a familiar use AS, however, most do.
I certainly hope this is not another item that is for a very specific strategy and is more useful then the BoE.
I guess we have to wait for Jon's official announcement on it.
I guess it's an oversight with the new store, and the introduction of Supporter items.
A little loop hole that lets us get our hands on one before it's been tested/finalised.
Even as a familiar user, I'm starting to feel that familiars are getting too much versatility. What I really want is an item that actually gives to the actual minion equipped. Something new that synergizes with the ToA, RoS or RoBF instead of a familiar.
Give non-familiar tattoo people a bone. Cause so far there is very little that benefits the actual minion possessing a non familiar tattoo, at least not in the same way junction helps out familiars.
