I refuse to buy $CB from Burton or KFCO (in Public Record)

AdminShade November 17 2009 11:42 AM EST

I as a player of Carnage Blender refuse to buy in-game cash from Burton.

do you?

QBRanger November 17 2009 11:42 AM EST

I concur.

{Wookie}-Jir.Vr- November 17 2009 11:46 AM EST

Did I miss something? Why?

QBRanger November 17 2009 11:48 AM EST

We are tired of seeing NUB sellouts.

They do nothing more than come in, use the NUB and when it is over, use that bonus to make money.

{Wookie}-Jir.Vr- November 17 2009 11:50 AM EST

Hmm So if a player decides they don't like the game and want to leave? What would you consider "enough" time after the NUB has expired to sell out?

Just curious.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] November 17 2009 11:56 AM EST

I don't buy from any one who sells-out. That makes it simple :).

AdminShade November 17 2009 12:02 PM EST

Jiraiya: for me this has nothing to do with time but with the fact that more and more players with the NUB use this game to make cash from it instead of actually playing it.

When more and more do this successfully, the game will bleed to death and I dislike seeing that happen, hence I refuse.

QBRanger November 17 2009 12:24 PM EST

Jir,

When a new player sellout out of everything just before or just after his NUB is over, then sells all of his/her cash, I think it is quite obvious the intent.

Most people starting a NCB keep some equipment and money.

But to sell out of everything including a 4M MPR+ character is just an insult to the game and its players.

This does not pass the smell test.

{Wookie}-Jir.Vr- November 17 2009 12:30 PM EST

Ahh, no worries, I just haven't been paying attention.

QBRanger November 17 2009 1:50 PM EST

Can we change the title to Burton or KFCO?

Both are NUB sellouts.

winner winner November 17 2009 2:59 PM EST

agreed, especially since Burton said he was selling out for a NCB.

TheHatchetman November 17 2009 3:39 PM EST

Did that actually fool *anybody*? Selling everything but the tat even might've been enough for the optimistic to think "Hey maybe he is"... But with very very few exceptions, once the tat's gone, so is the player...

DoS November 17 2009 3:42 PM EST

I too won't be buying any money.

I do, however, enjoy the tattoo ;)

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 17 2009 3:51 PM EST

Only way I would buy is with the agreement of a Voluntary Account/IP Banning in Public Record.

It's my point of view if you do not like it too bad.

BHT November 17 2009 5:13 PM EST

Is this really necessary?

Wraithlin November 17 2009 5:28 PM EST

I, as a CB player refuse to buy CB dollars from old player sellouts. They have been here for far too long making CB dollars and are trying to make money off new guys like me.

Umm, I think you have this backwards buddy, they are trying to prevent people from making any profit off of this...

Wraithlin November 17 2009 6:20 PM EST

"Umm, I think you have this backwards buddy, they are trying to prevent people from making any profit off of this... "

Nope I have it right, the NUB sellouts are just merchants working thier buisness, I don't care about them, they don't bother me. It's the old guys with 40 pages of gear that are going after my hard earned dollars that I'm mad about.

I'm starting a sub petition for boycotting the sales of players that never got a NUB bonus.

QBRanger November 17 2009 6:30 PM EST

No SP,

He is being sarcastic and not very subtle about it.

Trust me Wrath, if and when I sell out, I will be certain not to let you get your hands on my stuff.

I am sure most of us old timers feel the same.

Meanwhile when your NUB is over and you sell out, I will personally start the petition not to have people buy your CB.

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] November 17 2009 6:32 PM EST

"40 pages of gear that are going after my hard earned dollars that I'm mad about."

Going after? You sound as if someone is forcing you to buy stuff.
I don't get your post...

{CB1}Sparticus [Screwed Justice] November 17 2009 6:36 PM EST

If the Nub has actually invested in the game then selling might be ok if they didnt like the game. That is selling for whatever they actually spent on the game for that short time..

But playing the game for free then selling out at end of nub just to make a quick profit is extremely tacky.

QBRanger November 17 2009 6:38 PM EST

"Nope I have it right, the NUB sellouts are just merchants working thier buisness,"

And basically sums up the problem.

New players think of CB as a business, when it should be thought of as a game.

The NUB is a mechanism, however poorly designed and implemented, to allow new players to play catch up to older players.

It was not meant to be a way for new players to play for a few months and make cheap cash.

But it seems that fact had not gotten into Wrath's consciousness yet. Which typifies the problem with the NUB. It is thought of as an entitlement, which is certainly is not.

Levon [Clocked Out] November 17 2009 6:40 PM EST

you don't need to sell anything, plain and simple.. you don't like the game, stop playing

Flamey November 17 2009 7:35 PM EST

Yep, can't agree more with Levon.

Wraithlin November 17 2009 7:40 PM EST

Actually I just like provoking all you guys, it's funny seeing you get worked up. Especially since the laws of simple economics will govern this problem. It's just a supply/demand curve. Either the demand is there for these NUB sellouts from the community, and they are provided a wanted service. Or they just wasted 6 months of thier time. Either way getting mad about it is just plain rediculous.

Are you getting mad that your community wants these merchants?

Or are you mad that someone just wasted 6 months of thier time?

Those are the only two options you really have here.

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] November 17 2009 7:42 PM EST

Mad at both.

Wraithlin November 17 2009 7:42 PM EST

Oh and if you are mad that your community wants them here, well get over it, because guess what, you're the minority. You just happen to be posting when the rest of them are happy to just purchase thier goods.

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] November 17 2009 7:43 PM EST

I don't wanna.

QBRanger November 17 2009 7:52 PM EST

I too wanna be mad at NUBs that come in, do nothing for the community other than make stupid posts and then sell out.

And when I help some of these NUBs that later sell out, o boy do I feel stupid for wasting my time.

So if we, as a community wish to make this type of post, more power to us.

Rawr November 17 2009 8:25 PM EST

"Actually I just like provoking all you guys, it's funny seeing you get worked up."

FREAKING FORUM TROLL ALERT.

Anyways, I also agree with Levon. If you don't want to play, just stop playing. I for one am against all USD transactions, but someone made an argument (I think Zen) that made sense but I really do not recall. But anyways, boo to sellouts.

{CB1}Sparticus [Screwed Justice] November 17 2009 10:06 PM EST

I say, "Death to the Nub Bonus."

TheHatchetman November 17 2009 10:09 PM EST

"Actually I just like provoking all you guys, it's funny seeing you get worked up."

Ahh, a signed confession of trolling ^_^ (That is, after all, the exact definition of trolling, no?)

lostling November 17 2009 10:18 PM EST

*shrug* i would sell out when i dont ever want to play this game anymore :) but i dont see that in the foreseeable future hehe...

TheHatchetman November 17 2009 10:22 PM EST

note to self: read all replies, *then* post. But i see Rawr caught what I did as well ~_^

Far as everyone "investing" money into CB, you are all RETARDED. You can spend, yes. But looking at cash spent on CB as an investment that you deserve a return on is just an all-around dumb idea (with very few exceptions, for more info ask JS or DrAcO)... You can't expect to put $500 into CB, gain a huge advantage over everyone else for a year or two, then get $500 out. If you do expect to do this, then while I sincerely hope CB is around to keep me busy when my grandchildren are napping, I also hope that if it does close down, the announcement will be made the day before your sellout thread. ("You" and "your" in those sentences referring to you, the reader.)

Umm, in simpler terms, money spent on CB is just that. Money *spent*. It is not an investment. It is not a gamble. You do not deserve a penny return on your time spent here. Either you were paid back through your enjoyment with this game, or you truly are an idiot, fully incapable of making the simplest decision to not go out of your way to do something you did not enjoy.

I'd guesstimate my account (after over 3 years) is worth ~$400-600... My average paycheck from my minimum wage job at Quiznos runs about that much. Grow some common sense people.

{Wookie}-Jir.Vr- November 17 2009 10:51 PM EST

If Ranger ever sold out, the CBD to USD ratio would drop to like $1:1m :O

QBRanger November 17 2009 11:01 PM EST

Jir,

I sold out 2 times already. But still came back.

First was in pieces, the second was all bought by 1 person.

Sickone November 17 2009 11:02 PM EST

Considering I'd never spend any cash on CB, that makes for a very easy choice : of course I won't buy anything from those two, as I wouldn't buy anything from anyone to beging with.
:)
Although, I could argue that nobody should be allowed to buy anything from anybody for cash, but that's another matter altogether and Jon has already spoken on it (sadly, not the way I'd like to, but, eh, what can you do about it).

Joel November 18 2009 12:26 AM EST

W00T! Hatchetman said exactly what I wanted to say! His view on this matter is my view as well! I'm just a little sick today, so I can't think properly, or I would have posted something like earlier. ^^
