Die, minions, die! (in Changelog)

AdminNightStrike September 30 2011 9:23 AM EDT

They should be staying dead now.

Previously, we would only whack a dead-but-regenerating minion if everyone else was already killed during the round. We still will. However, the determination of "killed" is now "hp+regen > 0" instead of "hp > 0".

The change has been completely untested :)

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] September 30 2011 9:33 AM EDT

FINALLY.

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

The only problem I ever had was this was if some of my minions didn't even attack because they thought the minion was dead.

You're the best. You can have a free naming on me NS!!! ( That's like a two for one, you get a named item, and paid for it :P )

Joel September 30 2011 9:37 AM EDT

Awesome! I get excited every time a change is made! ^.^
Thank you for making so many changes, NS!!

QBRanger September 30 2011 9:41 AM EDT

Nice. Now let us see if it works.

AdminShade September 30 2011 9:51 AM EDT

KO

Quyen September 30 2011 10:05 AM EDT

i dont really get it.. ._. if HP + the regeneration is still 0 it will die, but before it wouldnt?

AdminNightStrike September 30 2011 10:06 AM EDT

Before, it would die, the attackers would move on, and then it would come back to life at the end of the round.

Quyen September 30 2011 10:07 AM EDT

oohh..

Reyth September 30 2011 10:10 AM EDT

sweet! great change ns.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] September 30 2011 11:07 AM EDT

i think the best description of what this accomplishes can be found here:

if you have enough patience to go through that entire thread.

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 30 2011 11:08 AM EDT

No more zombies?

I stand on the middle ground on this one, I both was using it to my advantage for awhile and I hated anyone who used Zombie minions as well.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] September 30 2011 11:49 AM EDT

You can still zombie; if you're damage is puts them between 0 and negative their regen rate, they still resurrect at the end of the round. However, this change makes it so that if you put them in that area, and you still have a minion that needs to attack, they will attack the "dead" minion before moving on to the other opposing minions next round.

Lord Bob September 30 2011 11:55 AM EDT

FINALLY.
My thoughts exactly.

An excellent, much needed, and long overdue change.

Last night's episode was pretty good. Love me some John-Ralphio.

Yeah, I could watch it last night, so I'll be watching it tonight on Hulu. But, I personally love Ron Swanson.

QBRanger September 30 2011 12:22 PM EDT

LOL, greatest show ever!!!!!

Seriously?

Better than Seinfeld?

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] September 30 2011 12:24 PM EDT

Better than Seinfeld?

Well I never really liked Seinfeld. So I don't think it would be fair to make that judgment. Personally I enjoy it soooo much more than Seinfeld.

QBsutekh137 September 30 2011 12:29 PM EDT

Also hard to compare a show only in it's fourth season (where the first was a very short sixer-type situation) to a classic that ran for more than twice that.

I do like it better than The Office (US version), though. I find it as good as earlier classic Office episodes like "The Injury". Except it appears to churn out that level of funny every episode (once you get into the characters).

All just my opinion. Nothing is as funny as season three "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia", and, for me, that includes "Seinfeld".

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] September 30 2011 12:33 PM EDT

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

All my friends are really into Sunny. I never really got into it, he humor always seemed a little too crude and not witty enough. Maybe that happened just to be the 2-4 episodes I've watched. But, that's just always how I felt. And I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Aziz after him performing so well live.

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 30 2011 12:48 PM EDT

+1 for "Its Always Sunny"

Anyway thanks for more changes NS :)

Josh [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 30 2011 1:32 PM EDT

Parks and Recreation is far and away better than The Office. The Office, while funny, tends to become annoying (at least to me). Parks and Rec is far more intelligent and well written. Though, it's no Seinfeld. It's not even Curb.

Philly is great. Though the first two episodes of this season, especially the season opener, seemed to be a little much, even for Philly.

I'm pumped for The League starting next week and was happy to see Archer get some play after Philly to draw some attention to it because I think Archer is just as funny and at times funnier than all the others. Louie is a great show too.

Oh by the way. GREAT CHANGE NS. Thanks. I thought the whole zombie thing was intentional because every game seems to need zombies nowadays.

QBRanger September 30 2011 1:39 PM EDT

Yes Archer is incredibly funny.

Sorry to say it has not caught on. It is piss in your pants funny at times.

QBsutekh137 September 30 2011 2:20 PM EDT

Archer has caught on quite well, as far as I can tell. They got these three extra episodes this fall and Season Three is set to start proper next year on its usual schedule.

Contrast that with the show I still think is even funnier (done by Adam Reed as well): "Frisky Dingo". That only went two seasons (far less, timewise, since most eps are only 10-15 minute shorts) and was canned, and an ill-conceived spin-off (The Xtacles) didn't get past a pilot (didn't help that Reed and Thompson and their studio were disbanding at the time...) Archer is doing MUCH better than that over on FX.

Josh, couldn't agree more about 7.1 and 7.2 of IASIP -- they need to bring things back around, like they did fairly well in Season 6 (once they got to the boat episode they started getting funnier).

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANKS NightStrike! Sorry for the continuing hi-jack! *smile*

Anyone test this yet?

QBRanger October 1 2011 4:34 PM EDT

So far I have yet to encounter a minion reviving in battle.

AdminNightStrike October 4 2011 9:33 AM EDT

I just did :)

Looks like we still have an issue with PL.

That is, a minion with PL will die from absorbing damage, then come back for the next round. This is different than dying from a direct attack.

This will be harder to address.

QBRanger October 4 2011 9:39 AM EDT

We still will. However, the determination of "killed" is now "hp+regen > 0" instead of "hp > 0".

Can you have the program perform this for every minion, not just the ones that take damage directly?

I could assume that this will occur if a minion dies via GA as well.

Oh, i should read the whole post before posting i guess. Seems like NS already said PL screws it up.
