cookies are good... I haven't even had a chance to touch the mace yet. Was gonna buy ones once I had this whole paypal thing up and running. But now, i am going to buy some cookies.

First.

Seriously though, with all thats been changed so far this month, there has been no way to test out any strategies or even figure a gameplan with the MoD and the new shield together, which is something I had hoped to test but am unsure at this point.

-- FailBoat[SG]

Not really "boring" but...

I think Rangers comments in the thread summed it up best. It's tough for a new weapon to compete with what people are already using, especially when another item that weapon was designed to be tied to is lacking in excitability.
The MoD isn't boring, it's just "Sex-Appeal Challenged".

-- j'bob

Strategies

With all the current strat is there room for new strats and items?
Its all too fast! We have no time in testing this!

-- Brakke Bres

Too many other shiny things!

I don't have paypal so I get other people to get my things for me in exchange for CB$.

Looking at my little strat...what do you think I'd spend bucks on ? Mage shield or MoD?

You put too many goodies in front of us!!

-- QBJohnnywas

Although:

if it's just going to go into the special shop then...

MORE ITEMS!! COOKIESS!!!

-- QBJohnnywas

I got one just because it was $6 cheap

I doubt I'll ever use it. The special is good, ignoring PL is a Godsend, finally there's something to counter PL and give people pause before just plugging away witht he TSA PL minion. And doing increased damage to AS HP is good as well.

But on the whole (and I've said this a few times!) there are just too many weapons. No matter how many we have, people will always shoot for the best weapon, as that's what WA and ENC dictate. So unless the MoD overtakes the Morg for sheer uberness, no one is really going to bother with it. For a 1H, the Swords have better damage (thorugh increasing ever important PTH) and for sheer power, the Morg wins outright.

If the MoD was buffed to give the Morg challenge, then I think we'd see a reverse, with many MoDs and hardly any Morgs used.

Too weak to be actually good.

Now I know you said that this wasn't for the top people. I still however think that this weapon is a bit too weak to be of any good really...

Though the better parts of it are:
- 1-handed weapon
- usable with the new shield for hammer like damage (this really should be called blunt damage.

Perhaps Hammers / Maces should be given an additional damage versus plate mail armor types to give them a proper place in the ranks. Then you would have different styles of tanks based minions also. (make special weapons against heavy and light tanks)

-- AdminShade

I have just sent 11 bucks for one in Paypal - so hopefully we will keep it:(

-- Phrede

another melee weapon, give us something that mage and tanks can use (well thats my opinion)

-- Angel of Death

AoD has a point..

Lots of people running mages around who may not even consider buying a weapon. Something useful to both sides of the CB equation might not be a bad idea....

-- QBJohnnywas

It's the perfect weapon against my new team... nuke it from orbit!...heheh

-- AdminQBnovice

Novice,

Do you really think someone will get one +288 to even hit your familiiar in the next 2 years---seriously?

-- QBRanger

Could be Great !

But who can afford to throw away their $100M investment in a current weapon to bring the new one up and see how it works.
I don't think it's the fault of the new item, it's more current investment levels.
I'm sure the new items will do great with low level folks looking for a weapon.
Look at Ranger though. Not because he's the best example - he's one of the most extreme, but he's definitely vocal. He has a huge MH. That investment took him years to build up. He could sell it off on the market at 70% if he's lucky and get full payment months down the line or he could disenchant it and lose half. There's not really a viable way for him to change weapons.
Small-fry like me are in just the same boat really. I'm using an ELB and a VB. Two once great weapons since nerfed down to barely big 5 status, I just can't afford to change.

-- Yukk

Hey

It's easy to forge so leave it please please please :)

-- {cb2}ShadeSlayer

No "Give it time to settle" option!

I say leave it for a while. With all the changes going on it's bound to start off slow. Let it settle in for a while before axing it!

-- Wasp

I don't think the intention is to axe it

Just to replace it with something people actually want to buy. I'm sure it would remain, and be available for $11.

-- AdminQBGentlemanLoser

This is the most evenly divided poll I've ever seen. 34 32 34

-- QBOddBird

cookies

Looks like its gone to 35/32/34.. A third of those interesting vital statistics appear to want a CB Cookie.

Time to get cooking Jon?

-- QBJohnnywas

A Cookie [15]

Next supporter item? ;'D

-- QBOddBird

cookies

I enjoy the new options for weapons. I feel the game needs to be shaken up a little.

-- three4thsforsaken

Cookie of Doom

=3 cookie weapon! stronger than the BoNE be a one handed weapon! ^_^ but has a 10% chance of crumbling and a 20% chance of disabling armor

-- KittehShinobu

I voted cookies

Because I'm happy with my Morg and see no reason to switch to a less powerful weapon. And I can't use the new shield anyway because unequipping my Mage Shield would be suicide.

-- Lord Bob

IF we had an option to change weapons like tattoos, the MoD would be a great weapon to try out, especially since it ignores PL.

But as I and others state, to get one as high as is needed in the mid to upper level is just too much an investment.

-- QBRanger

I only got one because I buy all the new supporter items. I'm sure Hatch could come up with an awesome strat to make use of it but I'm a mage.
