Development suggestion: filter for retired char... (in General)

AdminShade March 10 2009 3:52 AM EDT

Filter for stats view for retired characters.

Wouldn't it be great if we all would be able to filter out retired characters in these overviews:

Character standings
Character attributes
Items overview

? In my opinion this would truly be great!

Ancient Anubis March 10 2009 4:24 AM EDT

yes we need such an option or have it so only active characters are included to begin with

AdminShade March 12 2009 1:09 PM EDT

no other opinions?

{Wookie}-Jir.Vr- March 12 2009 1:13 PM EDT

I've suggested this before and was told it's unnecessary because jon doesn't support laziness.

QBOddBird March 12 2009 1:20 PM EDT

I agree, it would be nice to filter those out.

I periodically use the Character standings/attributes lists to check out potential opponents, and then I find a good one, only to discover he's retired. There's no reason for them to be in these statistics, IMO.

I do understand having them in Items Overview; items are items, regardless of if they are on retired characters or not. But I fully support filtering or removing retired characters from the standings/attributes list.

YES!

Dark Dreky March 12 2009 1:29 PM EDT

Great idea! Something I feel that needs to be done!

kevlar March 12 2009 1:49 PM EDT

sounds great. I was kind of suprised one time when I was comparing a stat and it was a retired character.

QBRanger March 12 2009 2:00 PM EDT

yes, a great idea.

I have never believed that retired characters should be in the top of some categories anyway.

Such as win streak and score. These are fluid stats unlike MPR.

AdminShade March 12 2009 2:40 PM EDT

All those stats and things which belong to, and can only grow or be lessened, by attacking and being attacked, imho shouldn't at all belong in every day's updated stats.

Which is why I want more and more people to put their vote up to change this. Also this isn't so much for laziness, because it has nothing to do with laziness at all in my opinion.
When you are able to check your own stats better with regards to other active characters (i.e. not retired ones) then you can plan your strategy much much better.

AdminTal Destra March 12 2009 2:44 PM EDT

i vote to clean it up, when i look at stats i want to see active characters to know what strats are currently being used.

[SIBT]Gardiner Amarth March 12 2009 4:05 PM EDT

This is one of the better ideas I've heard all day.

Colonel Custard [The Knighthood] March 12 2009 6:54 PM EDT

I agree.

Wasp March 12 2009 6:56 PM EDT

Agreed. They are retired for a reason. Get them out of the statistics!!

QBRanger March 12 2009 7:15 PM EDT

An idea was proposed over 18 months ago for almost the exact same thing.

Nothing happened then, hopefully it can happen now.

Then let's bump this up again and get people sign their names to make this work! ;)

MonkeyMandate [Wasting Time] March 14 2009 8:07 AM EDT

it would be good to not have retired chars clogging up the stats. however it would be good if this could be toggled in the setting as sometimes i like to see the stats of every char ever created.

Phrede March 14 2009 10:10 AM EDT

Totally agree

AdminNightStrike March 14 2009 11:43 AM EDT

It's already on the list in the wiki. I mad esome comments a while ago that it would be a good idea to improve the stats pages. However, the focus right now is on garnering new users via other improvements, not this. This will take a backseat.

If you want this to have a higher priority, don't have a petition. Refer new people that become supporters.

I'd sign it. This is something I've wanted to happen for a long time.
