The Corn gets its name from the Greek word for wonder, thauma [2], and the Latin word for horn, cornu [3]. It could therefore be loosely translated to "Horn of Wonders".
The Corn is the pointed hat often associated with Wizards and Witches. It looks similar to a Dunce Cap [4].
Corns are also featured in the games Nethack [5] and Kingdom of Loathing
