Give me a job! (Read carefully) (in General)

AdminNightStrike August 16 2009 8:25 PM EDT

First, if I don't respond to you, it's probably because you didn't read this post in its entirety.

Now then.. I have a bit of spare time right now to work on some things for CB, and I'm looking for something that's (in order of importance):

1) fun for me
2) won't change the game balance (watch how fast I lock this thread once THOSE suggestions pour out.................)
3) isn't a very large job
4) is a little off the beaten path

I know there's a lot of ideas pouring through the threads on the forum, but I will honestly tell you all that I don't read every post anymore. I just plain can't. Sometimes (not always) when I don't respond to a thread or a post, it's simply that I just haven't read it; it's not that I dislike the idea. So feel free to cull some past ideas, even ones that have been rejected, as they might see new light after time has gone by.

Some suggestions from me to you, the reader:

Don't make this thread unpleasant. You're all mentally adult enough to understand what that means. Respect what I'm trying to do here, and I will respect you.

If you have an idea for a new page/interface/design/etc., see if you can do a rough mock up. If you don't know html, grab a pencil, paper, digital camera, and imageshack.us. I can work with that :)

Try to think of things that you think will be a "little bit extra" that makes CB just a little bit better. I can't go and redesign the world... but I can take small steps.

I'll amend this post as the thread goes along.. hopefully not because it gets out of hand :)

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 16 2009 8:36 PM EDT

I know there are more important matters and also this has been suggested before.

1. A description box for each character/clan so one could describe where the clan/character came from, looks like, story, blah blah blah.

You could include a story for named items also. There are many creative minds in CB and it would create a distinctiveness between similar builds/items.

2. A new item (many ideas floating around) previously from CB1 Jon would make a post for ideas on items and what they could do. He would then pick which he liked best.

3. A new spell (same as above 2.)

4. Achievements (see recent post)

AdminNightStrike August 16 2009 8:38 PM EDT

I was working on (1), actually, and forgot about it.. I got to a certain point and stopped. I can finish doing that.

three4thsforsaken August 16 2009 8:42 PM EDT

Metals, kinda like achievements. Ranging from easy (7 BA!) to really hard (holding top score for 24 hours). You keep them, and they show up on your profile. It'll give a reason for people to keep playing and will make CB all the more addicting.

Ideas include:

1. Running through an entire NCB.
2. Owning equipment with more than 100 mil NW (easy to trick, but w/e)
3. 10 forum posts
4. One metal for every tourny completed.
5. 100 defensive wins.

hmm?

three4thsforsaken August 16 2009 8:43 PM EDT

oops, I meant ranging from easy (9 BA!) blah blah blah

I am not implying that 7 BA is easy.

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] August 16 2009 8:48 PM EDT

Nice idea's three ;)..

I would like too see a new realm for those that have been around for four + years. :)

Fatil1ty August 16 2009 8:49 PM EDT

mouseovers for items, skills, spells etc that explain there benefits and uses

Levon [Clocked Out] August 16 2009 8:51 PM EDT

i'm not sure what constitutes a "large job" for you, but it would be nice to make forging a real business.. posting messages in a forum saying that you want to forge something, loaning items and transferring fees manually is very grotesque

we need an interface for forgers pls

MonkeyMandate [Wasting Time] August 16 2009 9:02 PM EDT

in the character standing and attribute pages to have a page for NCB's. this would allow for easier comparison of how ur strat is doing compared to other NCB's and also make it easier to find out the most effective strategy at the current point of time.

Fatil1ty August 16 2009 9:02 PM EDT

levons got a great point. There should be a link where you post jobs you'd like done with a percent you're offering. and then forgers can accept the jobs with one click and begin progress. It makes it much less cumbersome. perhaps the items could be auto returned once the job is complete.

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 16 2009 9:17 PM EDT

I have never forged but levons Idea sounds excellent.
Maybe a menu similar to rentals.

Forge? Item start Item finish Price Profit

yes/no A Dagger [4x1] (0) A Dagger [4x10} 80% $12345
yes/no Leather Armour [6] (1) Leather Armour[6] (10) 70% $98765
yes/no A Dagger [4x1] (0) A Dagger [4x50} 75% $92345
yes/no A Dagger [4x1] (5) A Dagger [4x999} 72% $984561

etc etc..

Is this kinda what you mean? If so that idea makes it easier for everyone and can make rates more competitive than they already are.
Would also clear up a lot of forum posts.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] August 16 2009 9:17 PM EDT

Somewhat related to the achievements idea...

A badge, that you could obtain on you user account if a certain number of people vote so you get it. Kinda like the karma system on many other games/boards, but not numerical.

Example: A button on the user page that reads: "This user is awesome".
If, let's throw a number, ten --different-- people click it, you get the "awesome" medal. It could be temporary, or maybe after ten other clicks by ten other people, you could get a (2) beside the medal, and they would accumulate/stay forever. Whichever really. The only important thing is that it must not be a numerical representation of exactly how many people tagged you, that's lame, and much like regular karma systems.

Ideas to limit exploiting could be:

-Only Gondor members can vote
-Only people who have been active for X time in the last X hours/days can vote.
-Limiting the number of times you can vote in a month, determined by how much time you've been around CB...

You get the point, I think. It would be a nice alternative to the QB's, and I would have voted for many people already.

Hope it fits your criteria :)

Cancel CM

A "cancel unreceived CM" function would not only be useful in this way, but also when players CM multiple admins if they need urgent help - after all, not all admins are on 24/7. But once an admin has responded, wouldn't it make sense to cancel the unreceived CMs to the OTHER admins - after all, not sending anything after the conflict was resolved would only serve to confuse the other admins, and an extra "Oh, never mind, I got it fixed" would serve to clutter up their other chatmails?

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 16 2009 9:51 PM EDT

Rental Storage. Not everyone wants to have many Mule chars and there is only so much room on each Char. Sometimes the Storage could be a great asset if only for a short time, at other times long term would be key. Maybe set it up to charge for a certain amount for a Certain amount of time and number of Items. E.G.

1 week = 110K

1 Month = 400K

3 Months = 1.1 Mil

6 Months = 2 Mil

1 Year = 3.8 Mil

Plus Reminders for when your Storage time is about up. It will Try to auto return your Items to you if there is no room it CMs you for 72 Hours: You either Pay up or the Items are Automatically put into Auctions/Store.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] August 16 2009 9:58 PM EDT

the storage idea reminds of a thread where jon or ns talked about possibly having extra storage as a bank or something. i will try to find that!

I would like the 'Help!' menu reworked and expanded a bit so it is easier for navigation to different areas. Maybe the current 'help' menu could be changed to 'INFO' , and a real separate help menu added that gives strategy ideas (based on MPR ), quick reference to carnage blender acronyms, glossary, forums link , (oh we have that), but Black Market voting page, and naming items, and a few other things are buried pretty deeply and not exactly easy to find. basically whatever would help navigation of users so they can find how to transfer items, money, forging 'how to's and tutorial, etc. Also the definitions of spells need to be continually updated more because incorrect data is pretty common since 'changemonth' is always switching things up.(I know this may be impossible) but specifically I am having trouble understanding DX and it's effect on UC, EC and other effects since Encumbrance and other tat changes - including RoBF and ToE changes). Maybe also something that explains the first things you need to know, the strategy ideas, the creation of characters, and just a quicker way to get started. To do this perhaps add a question button - what character type would you like to create or learn about? And it gives the information thoroughly in one place that has to do with mages... Ok this may be way to complicated, but you asked! :)
Maybe a rolling chat applet (but not chat) that pops up with notices, current events, achievements (as in the previous suggestions) and possibly other suggestions for the user at his current MPR.

Sickone August 16 2009 11:30 PM EDT

"I'd like to see Retired Characters taken out of the Character Standings. :) "

This.

Or, to put it in simpler terms, it would be more like they moved to a realm "higher" than Gondor (so they don't automatically show up whenever you look at the standings even if you are in Gondor already), something akin to how tournament characters are treated (but not quite the same, since the new realm would also include all "Gondor" realm characters).
Whenever a character is unretired, it is placed in the appropriate realm depending on user's CB age.

Suggestions for this new realm's name were multiple (not that it really matters, but why not), here's a few:
* Realm of Heroes
* Hall of Remembrance
* Valhalla
* Elysian Fields
* Purgatory

QBsutekh137 August 17 2009 12:13 AM EDT

Kill random drops? Sorry, but it isn't a balance changer. *smile*

[Jedi] Danludar August 17 2009 12:41 AM EDT

1)I know this would be a "large job", but it'd be nice if maybe there was another economic factor in this game. Possibly a whole different game dimention. Probably doesn't belong here, but I feel it might be really interesting to have something such as stocks or building an organization to make...something? Just throwing this out there.

2) Bring the bank back from cb1. Maybe a better version of it like you can keep money in it that'll gain interest over time. Not sure how much work this would be though.

3)A CM from the auction system about new items coming in. The email thing works well, but I never seem to get around to checking my email so maybe there are others out there like me.

4)It's been mentioned before, not sure where the post it, but maybe flash character images. We could even have pictures for each item. Nothing extensive just a basic image you can set for each weapon. Probably would need a CB artist for this. I know someone out there has to be able to do some design work in a program like photo shop.

Got a few more ideas if I can sort the wordings out a little bit better.

QBsutekh137 August 17 2009 12:45 AM EDT

Dand, if CB brings back a bank, but keeps the random drop lottery, I'll leave instantly. That's not meant to be a dare, as much as a lot of folks would probably like it, but to put a static money source in with one-fifth of cash rewards being random would be entirely inconsistent.

[Jedi] Danludar August 17 2009 1:03 AM EDT

Well I meant it more as a revised bank. Such as your cash gains x amount of interest every month you could leave 10 mil in there and get an extra lets say 250k a month. Probably a little more revised than that but its the general idea.

AdminShade August 17 2009 1:27 AM EDT

Simplify / Fix the tutorial. I know this is not one of the most fun jobs perhaps, but perhaps it is one of the most rewarding and it shouldn't be that much work removing and changing a few things I suggested...

Okay, a non-game-changing idea... You could take a whack at getting themes to work properly. Even if we can't have a theme creator again, it might be nice to have three or four different color options.

Drama [Just for fun] August 17 2009 10:58 AM EDT

Just had your BL effect in the battle stats, would be easier for GS users to see at wich level their BL is.

Neo Japan August 17 2009 11:29 AM EDT

I hate to fire a minion and LOSE all that time fighting and XP. Maybe instead of Firing a minion. You Sacrafice them and 50% of thier XP gets evenly Distributed over the other minions.

I'm doing an NCB with 3 chars and I see that it just isn't going to work, and If I were to fire one, there goes A LOT XP and time wasted.

Almaisky August 17 2009 11:31 AM EDT

Neo - what would stop people from hiring/firing indefinitely?

[RX3]Cotillion August 17 2009 11:50 AM EDT

I know you can just go to the train page, but why not display the level of the EO on the equip page so we can see how much our armor affects it?

I've asked before and you said no, but I'll try again. Can you have equipment on the equip page display the NW instead of the default 'None'?

PoisoN August 17 2009 1:17 PM EDT

I'd love to see a more advanced fightlist handling, or alternatively a second one.

That means adding foes to an ignore list (like those 1000M NW guys) which you won't like to add to your contact list, but still keep only 6 point clan opponents in it.

Or a second list which contains you all time favorites and another one for fast BA burning.

Marlfox [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 17 2009 1:19 PM EDT

Multiple fightlists that we can name and save would be great.

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 17 2009 5:16 PM EDT

This is (possibly) a small job. Which I have only come across a cpl times.

If I rented an item and I need to retire my character but I have to wait for 5 days for it to return that can suck. An option to send it back early would be nice.

Also if I was doing a test for strat reasons.

Or if i just don't want it anymore.

Neo Japan August 17 2009 5:17 PM EDT

umm, the cost would stop it. the fact that I said 50% so it wouldn't be worth it.

or even, subtract the amount of XP that hiring a minion would generate first, then distribute that, so hiring/firing would be nothing but a money sucker

Marlfox [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 17 2009 8:03 PM EDT

I'd also like to see the ability to untrain a specific amount of experience. At the same penalty, of course.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] August 18 2009 7:53 AM EDT

I would like on the strongest tattoo page a top 20 by lvl and not by type.

ArchieIl August 18 2009 8:39 AM EDT

Automatically running everyday tourneys for all who wants to participate so it will be much more realistic see character/strat value in real comparison.

I see no problem in joining tourney with rented equipment for example but in tourney character description should be placed information about look of character at the time it compete with others.

I think it is not a few line of code job... but would give more competition and some information about strength of different armour/weapon set.

TheCakeIsTheTruth August 18 2009 3:26 PM EDT

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] August 18 2009 3:50 PM EDT

Adding "search" to the list when you hover "auctions" in the sidebar.

"But that's redundant!"

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] August 19 2009 3:13 PM EDT

If you're talking about CMs Bob there is currently no way to do that. If you're are talking about PMs, which is what you said, all you have to do is type "/ignore" and then the person's name. Such as "/ignore Artemis"

AdminShade August 19 2009 3:32 PM EDT

Lord Bob August 19 2009 3:44 PM EDT

"If you're talking about CMs Bob there is currently no way to do that."

Yes, "Chat Mail" is what I meant. The terminology here got me. In my other forums we just have "private messages."

"If you're are talking about PMs, which is what you said, ..."

Yeah, that sounds like a chat thing, and I don't use chat.

"Such as "/ignore Artemis""

Yeah, for the record Art, I have no intention of ignoring you. *grin* I request it only for the few people who have harassed me in private 'chat' mail.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] August 19 2009 3:46 PM EDT

It appears I was wrong LB. Simply just type the "/ignore" thing, and it works for CMs too. This means I'll never receive CMs from my sister, woot!

Lord Bob August 19 2009 3:52 PM EDT

To elaborate a bit, the CM ignore feature should:
1.) Probably be temporary, like a one week thing. This prevents people from being unable to make FS/WTB deals or send friendly messages, say, six months after a trivial argument.

2.) Not allow people to ignore someone they've CM'ed in the last 10 minutes. This prevents cowardly things like someone flaming another then ignoring the target to prevent a response.

3.) CM'ing an ignored user auto-un-ignores them.

Lord Bob August 19 2009 3:52 PM EDT

"It appears I was wrong LB. Simply just type the "/ignore" thing, and it works for CMs too."

Oh, really? Cool. Ignore my request then.

QBRanger August 19 2009 4:03 PM EDT

I know this is not fun for you NS, but I think a primary consideration for your time would be reworking the tutorial.

I cannot prove but suspect we lose a lot of potential people due to it.

I am sure a lot of us in CB would help you.

I know this is not a short thing, but is of the utmost importance.

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 19 2009 4:43 PM EDT

Take off transfer fees for tournaments/contests/other non profit things. Keep them only for personal transfers.

Some clans have a relatively high turnover and a long lifespan. I would love it if I could have a link on the "My Clan" page that showed all past and present members.

RaptorX August 20 2009 11:07 AM EDT

Though I suggested the rolling chat applet - to be used for achievements rewards and announcements etc.. The Wiki changes are more pressing an issue I think. I wish I could help but I am not a programmer.. yet. I could find links that are incorrect or info that needs to be updated. .. well let me know if I can help in any way.

RaptorX August 20 2009 12:22 PM EDT

Oooooo! I canceled a chat that wasn't being looked at.. love it!

QBOddBird August 20 2009 12:40 PM EDT

Differentiation in the inventory between rented/loaned items and owned items.

This would be very helpful for those who already own an item - forgers as the best example - and either

1) accidentally forge their own item and waste time
2) accidentally name the wrong item
3) accidentally BS someone else's item thinking it is theirs

etc. and so forth.

DoS August 24 2009 1:13 AM EDT

How about being able to pick how long to loan an item out to someone, or more amounts of time available.

Both more than a week and less than an hour.

QBRanger August 24 2009 9:13 AM EDT

Less than 1 hour-why? If you cannot be without the item for 1 hour, do not loan it. I even loan my ELB for 1 hour is someone asks for it.

More than 1 week? The loan fees are so high most people just use rentals. Put it in when the other person is on. 1k for 4 weeks does the trick.

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 24 2009 3:35 PM EDT

What if it is just for testing Ranger? Why have an item longer than necessary? Besides it's just a suggestion for a feature. Just because you wouldnt use it doesnt mean others wouldnt. :-\

NooneKnows August 24 2009 4:53 PM EDT

I'm not sure how well this fits criterion (3) or if it's been offered before, but I'd appreciate the ability to return a loaned/rented item before the loaning period is over. perhaps a button with checkboxes on the "Manage" screen?

nothing urgent or extremely important, but it would certainly help reduce clutter after I go on a testing binge.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] August 24 2009 4:54 PM EDT

I love this idea ^!!!!

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 24 2009 4:57 PM EDT

I hope Noone's idea comes to fruition.

QBRanger August 24 2009 5:10 PM EDT

On the same or similar note,

The ability to remove an item from being in rentals, only if it has not been yet rented.

[Where Shirt]Freekie [Lower My Fees] August 24 2009 5:30 PM EDT

I dont read so maybe this has been said but how about a time on PM (or chat as well) so you know when someone PMmed you. I hate coming back home to see i have PMs but dont know when they came... Something like the new chat has.

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 26 2009 2:09 AM EDT

Not sure if it's somewhere I have not found yet.
But a place to keep records where everyone can view them.
Records like highest NUB/NCB final MPR or most battles won in a row.
Quickest 1,2,3,4,5,million mpr etc etc.....what ever anyone can think of.

[Insert idea here]

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 27 2009 10:07 AM EDT

An annoying sound indicating you have a pm/cm, that you can toggle on/off.

For lurkers and the people who multitask.

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] August 27 2009 3:34 PM EDT

Any chance we could see threads created/posts by individuals the way it used to be?

lostling August 27 2009 6:22 PM EDT

this might be a large suggestion... but it would be nice if we can have a main page solely for the fightlist like most games do... instead of just names on the side bar...

to be able to actually see your opponent's strats in a list would probably help many people who dont have time to slowly inspect through their fight list.

not to mention it would probably be more appealing to new player to actually see at a glance what strats are around them without opening a whole host of multiple tabs...

call it an expanded fightlist feature if you will...

dont know what you guys think... nightstrike if you think its possible maybe pm me or something... cant really think of how to describe it lol =x

Demigod August 27 2009 6:39 PM EDT

"An annoying sound indicating you have a pm/cm, that you can toggle on/off."

+1

I also want to see some creative uses for the empty gray area in the bottom left between Quick Links and Chat. Maybe an optional calculator. There's got to be a pre-existing calculator script somewhere...

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] August 27 2009 7:58 PM EDT

Calculator, +++

{Wookie}-Jir.Vr- August 27 2009 9:19 PM EDT

Here's something to do that would be awesome...

How about making the STR granted by AoL / BoF show up in post battle stats. So we don't have to break out a calculator every time we train to make sure our archery makes up for the *invisible* STR. :|

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 27 2009 9:53 PM EDT

don't forget BoM, TGs, AoM and HoE ;) might as well add everything into that equation so you just know right off what your Armor is doing.

Come to think of it how about a Percentages Calculator for Armor and Weapons....we select our items from a drop down list and plug in the +/x and get our % :)

AdminNightStrike August 28 2009 2:09 AM EDT

You will, before the month is out :)

Drama [Just for fun] August 28 2009 2:21 AM EDT

I'd like to see a link on the Home page for your history graph. If possible, add the "Add clan members close to my score" on the history graph page.

And I'd like to know why when you train 2 skills, ex; HP max (over) GA 1/4 (under), your HP will get all the exp. Is this something that could be changed too?

Thanks

AdminShade August 28 2009 3:11 AM EDT

Trippeux, that has to do with the order in which is trained. You say train HP (max) then all experience is trained into HP, whatever is left is trained into something else, which is 0.

If you first train the other skill, then train max HP, it will be what you want.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] August 28 2009 6:17 AM EDT

No love for merging the Train and Equip pages? :(

AdminG Beee August 28 2009 5:36 PM EDT

Any chance of doing something seksi with the forums whereupon a user can easily click somewhere to see threads that have been updated since their last visit?

Rawr August 28 2009 5:56 PM EDT

So I have this problem where I can beat some teams with a certain minion order; however, it is very time consuming and annoying to have to change minion order every fight just to defeat them. So I was wondering if there was a way to pre-set minion order versus certain characters (perhaps something that can be found in the Favorites List options).

ie. I can beat Dagobah if my mage is the 2nd minion in the order. But this would cause me to lose to other characters (for example if my mage was 2nd I'd lose to Heroes). But if I could set my fights to have my mage 4th against Heroes and 2nd against Dagobah, that'd be ideal.

{Wookie}-Jir.Vr- August 28 2009 5:59 PM EDT

Rawr, that would be ... soooooo.... overpowered....

Mikel [Bring it] August 28 2009 7:00 PM EDT

What about allowing the Salvage Yard to work with melee weapons as well?

Sorry if it is already posted.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 28 2009 7:15 PM EDT

you mean ranged, and yes it's been mentioned...

Apparently investing in ranged weapons is still supposed to be a risky business.

Demigod August 28 2009 7:21 PM EDT

I thought the problem with a ranged yard was that the upgrade values didn't match up like the Big 6.

Rawr August 28 2009 7:40 PM EDT

"Rawr, that would be ... soooooo.... overpowered...."

How is that overpowered? I can essentially do it right now, but it would just take WAY longer. In a sense, this suggestion is a time-saving idea. Nothing more.

QBRanger August 28 2009 8:13 PM EDT

It would not be difficult to program a range missile yard.

From my experience with the melee one, it keeps the same + and then adjusts the x based upon upgrade costs of both the + then the x.

It can easily be done the same way with missile weapons.

I have no idea if Jon does not want one, or if he has not gotten around to making one.

However, it would be a very nice feature.

But a melee to missile or vica versa is NOT desired by me.

Mikel [Bring it] August 28 2009 11:17 PM EDT

Yes I meant Ranged to Ranged.
After reading the first 20 or so, I just didn't read anymore lol.
Sorry for bringing back up again!

QBRanger August 29 2009 2:17 PM EDT

Rawr,

That would be analogous to being able to set up different armor/weapon setups for each opponent you fight. I am sure you do not want me to be able to set up a very heavy AC setup to fight you and automatically change to my DB setup for other people.

While you can do it, the trouble and time make it balanced.

Automatically doing it is far too powerful.

SuperHD August 29 2009 2:39 PM EDT

i think a good thing would be to have a inspect button that could stay <<on>> while you scroll down the list of standard opponent.. this way it would not take hours(well it would take less hours) to move the mouse hundred thousand time on the inspect button..

maybe make it a option in supporter preference to have the inspect mode manual(just like always) or automatic (like in the future) :)
understandable?
thanks in advance super NightStrike

SHD, just click inspect once then click the down arrow and inspecting will be like fighting then

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 29 2009 6:57 PM EDT

A link that pops on on Mondays and Sundays that reminds/forces you to go to the black market and vote.

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 29 2009 7:05 PM EDT

Henk_Obama brought up a good point....I guess an option to continue or go to black market would be better. Since voting is a right. Not mandatory.

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 29 2009 8:51 PM EDT

You know I wish there was a way to just click a button and find NUBs and NCBers, one Click there is the Front Runners for the NCBers, one Click there is the Front Runners for the NUB or even Top 10 or something of that Nature. Honestly I am a fan of competition and I think I am not alone. I'm sure there would be quite a few people who would use this feature to see how they are doing against all of their fellow N*Bs. I do not know if it would be a lot of coding or not but at least it was worth asking for :-D

Rawr August 29 2009 9:07 PM EDT

"Rawr,

Actually, yes, I would want you to be able to do so. In my opinion, without automatically being able to set minion order/armor per fight is essentially dampening the full potential of each character. If you have the ability to beat me Ranger, then yes I want you to be able to beat me. I do not take pride in the fact that I beat only solely because you don't want to go through the "time and trouble."

lostling August 29 2009 10:16 PM EDT

make it like training sets... but call it armor/order sets or soemthing... not automatic though

QBRanger August 29 2009 11:53 PM EDT

I hate the idea of "defensive" setups.

If one really wants to use this type of defensive, let him/her have to actually go through the motions to set it up. With the time/effort involved. Let us not so easify (sic) this game to the point of simplicity.

Just my opinion.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] August 30 2009 12:28 AM EDT

i have to agree with ranger here. it is all about choice in my mind though. if you have to choose between setups a, b & c for defense against the majority of opponents, then that is at least a choice. making it to where you can have multiple setups for different opponents really just takes away from the choices in the long run.

Demigod August 31 2009 11:58 AM EDT

LumpBot! And I'm serious. It might be as easy as just asking for the script.

Wow, people are stupid...

That said, I will commend CB in that the amount of people willfully ignoring my original post are minimal. This thing got up to 128 replies, and I haven't had to lock it yet :)

> 1)I know this would be a "large job", but it'd be nice if maybe there was another economic factor in this game. Possibly a whole different game dimention. Probably doesn't belong here, but I feel it might be really interesting to have something such as stocks or building an organization to make...something? Just throwing this out there.

Can you elaborate?

> 2) Bring the bank back from cb1. Maybe a better version of it like you can keep money in it that'll gain interest over time. Not sure how much work this would be though.

No, sorry. Money is only created through fights, and it should stay this way.

> 3)A CM from the auction system about new items coming in. The email thing works well, but I never seem to get around to checking my email so maybe there are others out there like me.

That's possible, I guess. I can throw up a poll to see what people think.

> 4)It's been mentioned before, not sure where the post it, but maybe flash character images. We could even have pictures for each item. Nothing extensive just a basic image you can set for each weapon. Probably would need a CB artist for this. I know someone out there has to be able to do some design work in a program like photo shop.

A flash image isn't basic.... unless I'm missing something?

What we need is to just pay someone to make a Flash tutorial like the forge thing. I'll start the bidding at $10m :)

It would, but that's not life :(

>What we need is to just pay someone to make a Flash tutorial like the forge thing. I'll start the bidding at $10m :)

Making the flash tutorial make you enlist a total of 2 minions while you only want them to enlist 1 sounds dodgy to me. The tutorial is simply on repeat no matter what you do, even fighting longer to make sure the 2nd minion has enough experience makes you enlist the 3rd one or be stuck. :(

AdminNightStrike September 1 2009 12:15 PM EDT

The flash tutorial wouldn't be a recording of someone going through the current tutorial... it'd just be a video explaining various things, exactly like the forge flash video.

AdminShade September 1 2009 12:19 PM EDT

Ahh, and how would that affect our current tutorial? Have it be removed completely?

AdminQBVerifex September 1 2009 12:59 PM EDT

I think this would be more along the lines of "a job for me" but, what about using something like this to replace some of the old boring stat pages? I think it can convey much more information without having to have all the clutter of the existing page, plus the pagination could be displayed as an extra block near the bottom, when clicked it drills into the "lower half" of data.

I think there are a couple possible uses for the infovis toolkit on CB, I found this the other day and thought.. you know who suffers from information overload? CB!

NooneKnows September 4 2009 8:53 PM EDT

how about a way to send a CM to multiple users at once?
